Wow...The Mail Carrier isn't even out of the hospital yet and Miami Pit Bull Advocates staged a protest due to this Level 5 Mauler being lawfully euthanized!

To top things off, this owner has a criminal record a mile long!

This mauling was a crime, a recividist felon with an illegal dog, producing the predictable outcome. More jail time is deserved here.

And please...let's not hear how manbiting pit bulls were always culled by the dog fighters. This advocacy group clearly wanted to save and traffick the dog into another community.

And they wonder why Pit Bulls are banned in Miami...How about some responsible breed stewardship for once? Instead of asking how maulers like Blue can be saved, they should be asking "Who bred and sold Blue?"

The protest was about MDAS not following proper protocol in this particular case and many others. This protocol is dictated by Fla Statues and MD County ordinance.

The vast majority of owners of "pit bull like" dogs are responsible people who spay or neuter their animals and provide them with proper shelter, vet care, training and food.

People who fight their dogs are cruel and sadistic individuals who should be prosecuted.

MDAS is too busy rounding up the bully dogs who have not shown any aggression and ripping them from their families instead of conducting investigations of people who fight dogs. It's just much easier.

The folks who organized the protest advocate responsible onwership, education, and are indead for the enforcement of dangerous dog laws, whatever the breed. BSL has been a failure in Miami Dade county and everywhere else where it has been legislated.

Even people who work for MDAS (field workers) share this view.

I get it...The multi-time Felon's rights were violated! The mail carrier provoked the dog! Is she out of the hospital yet and what is the owners plan to pay her medical bills?

Seriously, The Pit Bull community needs to pick it's fights better...Instead of asking "How to save Blue?" a responsible breed community would be asking "Who bred Blue?"

Better breed stewardship please!....

The dog license # on his collar had him registered as an Australian shepard .

http://www.justnews.com/news/20293744/detail....

The owner/s need to be fined and jailed. This is TYPICAL of the MY-AMI/ ME-AMI . I will do what I want because I can mentality.

The city of Dade is doing an injustice to law abiding dog owners if they don't fine/jail the pits owners.

Why not buy a grizzly bear also illegal in Miami-dade and register it as teddy bear hamster.

It seems Miami-dade animal control as MOST Miami agencies is rather lax.

I doubt you can sue when your breaking the law to begin with.
I do hope the mail carrier sues the owners for every penny they have and will ever have and sues Miami-dade for allowing owners to register their illegal dogs as Australian shepards, etc.

In other words not doing their job and making sure people dont lie which is the norm here.

If there is a place on the planet where people never accept responsibility for their actions and blame everyone else its MY-AMI.

Than again with such grossly inept city officials you can't blame them for trying.

Most REAL cities run by real officials the dog owner would have been arrested and facing charges.
Here he might wind up as city commissioner lol.

Well said John Winston.
How about taking responsibility that your dog attacked and seriously injured someone? The people protesting are not doing any justice to these animals who are "discriminated" against because they appeal to and are owned by irresponsible people like Mr. Fernandez. I hear no more about him filing suit....I'm sure he's realized he may well be a defendant in a lawsuit.

If Mr Fernandez was in N.Florida he would be arrested and sued by whatever city he lived in however in "laws not enforced" Miami he probably wont be.

That is the real problem here a bunch of "I dont care" city officials in charge .

I personally think that is retarded to make a certain breed illegal. When there are other kinds of dangerous breeds that are also a threat to Miami residents. It is the owners fault and the owner should suffer the consequences of what his pet has done. MIAMI SUCKS! LOL

The head of animal agency in charge of that is Cuban women who I emailed when that happened suggesting she do her job and stop allowing pitbulls to registered as any breed anyone wants.

The owner of the dog had typical Miami Cuban audacity. He was 100% in the wrong an illegal dog and it attacked the mail carrier and yet he and his wife blamed the mail carrier.

There are pitbulls in Miami-dade registered as other breeds if registered at all and with plenty of inept city officials it makes sense.

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Scorpio

Something that you've always taken for granted or believed implicitly could have a big question mark hanging over it during the next few weeks. The more entrenched your views are about this, the more difficult it will be to accept that perhaps it's time for a change of opinion or, at the very least, a revaluation of what you think. Mercury turns retro in your house of communications, so do your best to be open-minded now.
