Lefty Police in Da House wrote: <quoted text> I started this discussion with a post asking why we are still congratulating folks for being black? I think we're way, way past that point by now. I got a number of positive "judgments" for my post before it was deleted by some PC police man, along with any other posts agreeing with me. My post and other deleted post hardly violated terms of use, they were ideas that someone just didn't want to hear. Yikes--those lefties just hate to be questioned. They remind me of 60's era Republicans, just so full of themselves ... __________ You think to much of yourself ,, YOU didnt start this thread , The sentinel in fact started this thread by allowing comments ,, Geez get over yourself already :):) Have a great day :):)

I thought the military was segregated in WWII...? So any honor to any white serviceman would assumedly have been in an all-white unit. It's cool to honor any old vet, especially the last 2 in a unit and still alive--black or white! I think I'm going too! And I'm bringing my kids so they can learn more about the old days of segregation and take an interest in WWII (so it doesn't happen again, right?)

I salute these brave men for their duty during WW2. Our country was protected by these men as well as thousands of others who worked, trained and prepared our fighting men to confont the enemy. Thank God they never invaded the United States...and these are some the guys you can thank!! Johnny at the Harbor, At Attention. And Happy Birthday to the United States Marines....Semper Fi.

I'm thankful to all of our veterans and those presently serving. I'm glad to see this memorial being installed. I would love to see a parade downtown on Veterans Day, honoring all of our vets. Also, can we please invite the Navy to come back for July 4th?
