I just was wondering why the women in the county tag and tax office are so rude and unhelpful? I have never met such a hateful bunch of people. I went in there 30 minutes before closing, there were no other customers, so I just went ahead and stepped up to the counter, and the older woman there snapped at me to sit down. Then, two of the younger women looked at me and one got on the phone and the other one walked away. There was only one person in there willing to help. She was really nice, but the other three were so rude! They should be glad they aren't elected to their jobs because they would be on the soup line! Those three give Fannin County hospitality a bad name, especially the older woman, who really should be most ashamed!
Anyone else ever experience a similar problem with this crew or others?

Some days you can go in and they are really helpful, but MOST of the time-they are rude-and like you said, they run the other way, trying to act as if they are too busy to handle your issues. They frequently answer the phone WHILE they are taking care of the customer. I also believe that they suffer from the nepotism that's rampant in this county, also known as who's you Daddy, who's your Daddy?
The way our current Sheriff is spending money, and without the tax base that we HAD-we should be treated like Kings and Queens, we are being taxed as such.
This county has one of the highest tax rates around, and for what? A courthouse that sticks out like a sore thumb, a performing arts center, a professional football field(while our students share their books)? You can see where the priorities lie. Property values down at least 25-30% while we pay the rates from 2005? Give me a break, this county has and always will be run by the corrupt, that are only looking to get on the county dole, and help out their relatives while there. So far, it has been working like a charm for them. Unless we VOTE consistently, get rid of all the ones that would like to keep us a century behind every other county, then this will never change. Our leaders are supposed to vote for what is BEST for the county, not what THEIR CHURCH tells them to do.

Thank you , They are and it is who you know , if you get an respect from any of the city , county and this they call a court house .They all think they are the best thing that happened to this town , Got information they all need to be changed out and see how the folks treat them . I am in my late 50's and I remember when they were there to help not because they had to but because they wanted to and now it is a whole different story.

I went into the Tax Collector's office, at the Fannin County Courthouse, this morning to renew my DV auto license tag for another year. I couldn't have been given better service or treated with more courtesy. Since I have been doing the same thing for many years without any problem or mistreatment it makes me wonder if some of the complainers are politically motivated of just have an attitude proble. The folks who work in the Courthouse are our friends and neighbors and most are fine, considerate people. If you want respect maybe you should show a little instead of acying snotty and whining because everyone doesn't bow down when you holler. Some of you need to get a life!

IDK about the People in the court house, but I can tell you they are some snotty, hateful Girls at the DMV in Blueridge! I had to go back about 8 fliiping times to get my Drivers license!! Nothing I took in was good enough for them. I had to supply them with proof of my physical address! Kind of hard when you have a PO box. But, even when I supplied that, they would find something else to delay the process! I finally took my whole Safe down there, and showed them my whole life history!! They were still rude, but I finally got my Lisence, because I had had enough of the BS, and I told them so! I Will NEVER go back there! I'll let hell freeze over 1st!

As far as respect, I am always respectful when entering a public facility. I do not expect anyone to bow down as you stated. The point that you missed entirely apparently is that the employees whether they are our friends, neighbors, etc., are often rude, as evidenced by all the post here with the exception of two. If we have all experienced the same attitudes, then perchance it really is happening. You think?

But then you have ALL these people saying it doesn't happen! Isn't that very strange, that it only happens to "a few of us"?

It's a county-wide problem. Try the magistrate's office, where they're so unhelpful, it would be laughable.
Southerners are absolutely the rudest people on the planet. They are either late or don't bother to show up for appointments. They love nasty gossip. They don't listen or understand simple instructions/requests.
Actually, I've heard other theories for their rudeness. Many of my friends say they're just too stupid to process information so they always do things their way instead of the right way.

Now I'm not a native of Fannin, but am a Southerner. I have traveled around this country and you can experience rudeness almost everywhere. However, I find that you receive what you give. I can honestly say I have never had any of the problems at the tag office or any of the other offices I've had occasion to visit. Everyone was very helpful. Perhaps if you adjust your attitude before you go in people would be more responsive to you. Rudeness begets rudeness.

I've always been treated with courtsey in the tag office. Perhaps you folks should take your renewal notices next time you need a tag rather than expect the ladies to find your records that they've already sent to you by mail.

We should not expect them to "kiss-up" just because we pay their salaries. I bet most of them live in this county and pay taxes too. Working with the public can be trying when people are not pepared when they step up to the window.

For the person who showed up at 4:30 when the office closes at 5:00. I would imagine they have cash drawers to count and close-out each day and they probably don't get paid to stay late.

There are more important matters going on in this county for you folks to be concerned about. Give the ladies a break. I was in that very office recently while one man took over 45 minutes to have tag and title work done and he was treated with nothing but kindness from the clerk with the red hair eventhough he had incomplete paperwork and NO Fannin county drivers license. Which he had to go apply for, and bring back to complete the transaction.

You guys should hear yourselves...Or better yet, go spend some time in Atlanta.

Go back to hell where you came from. Not all people that move here think and act like you. Most people that move here are thankful to live in a wonderful community like ours. So if you don't like it the road leads back to where you came from. And as for the whole state of Ga. you can kiss our ass.

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Aries

In recent weeks you've been quite concerned about a loved one, and things are likely to come to a head as Mercury turns in your mid-heaven. You may be able to solve the problem simply, which will be a relief all round, but there's a chance that you may have to do some serious thinking or get some expert advice before you know exactly what your next step should be. You may have to take official action of some kind.
