why does everyone think there truck has to sound like thunder

i just dont understand why everyone you see has loud pipes it drives me crazy its like everyone has to be louder than the next guy it hurts my head when these vehicles fly by me on the road and its not just teenagers

I couldn't agree more. I live off of Mobile Road and this is where alot of the "country bumkins" like to blow out their pipes. I expect this from teenagers but for the grown men I have no excuse. I feel like they must miss high school and are trying to act like they are still 16 years old.
Hopefully they will grow up and mature soon.

Yeah..There is a particular white chevrolet pick-up, with "nuts" hanging on the bottom that is very LOUD!!!!!!!!!!

I don't have a problem with it. I like it, actually. Not TOO loud, but a truck with a good exhaust sounds great. If I had a V8, I'd have exhaust on it. And eventually, when I save up for a '69 Camaro or a new Camaro, it'll have exhaust, too.

All the older cars (with a V8) used to be loud. Most people didn't complain about them (at least not people with any taste in vehicles what-so-ever).

I had a '76 camaro with a 454 in it. It wasn't loud at all and I liked it that way. I have a new Dodge Ram now with a HEMI in it. Not loud either. Why in the hell someone wants a vehical that's so loud you can't hear yourself think while driving it is beyond me. I agree with the poster above, must be compensation for their tiny member.

dont forget about the harleys too.
the law doesnt want you to turn your radio up to loud cause it may drown out the loud pipes.lol

I love the loud trucks with confederate flags.

What I hate is Harleys with exhaust that sounds like a plane landing in the front yard, especially when Im taking my Sunday ciesta.

I LOVE loud trucks, which is why I have exhaust on mine. If you don't like it then pay to have sound proof windows put on your ride!!!

Oh, it's really on purpose? I just thought that they couldn't afford to get them repaired properly.
