Bill Simmons

Just like to know how you feel about him.

Who is Bill Simmons? We do have a Commission Chairman whose name is Bill Simmonds. Is that is who you are referring to?
Although I didn't vote for him I do think he is trying his best to keep critical county services functioning as well as can be expected during a severe economic downturn that may continue for years. And when the bucks aren't coming in that takes some doing! But then some folks will always demand the impossible and love to play the blame game instead of trying to help find solutions. Just human nature I guess!

Bill Simonds is a snake. Unless you do something to boost his ego or his political chances he will do nothing for you. In fact, you can almost bet on that you will get shit on by this poor excuse of a person. I hope someone is keeping a very close eye on the county expenses because if some of you only knew....

Id blow the whistle but I kinda need to keep my job and I don't work directly under the commissioner. But I know how he is and I wouldn't advise anyone to let your guard down. All I can say is someone who is semi educated in finances should really dig into the county budget and see all the nonsense our tax dollars are wasted on.

So far from what I have seen of the man he is doing what he said he would do. Under the current economic situation it is hard for anyone to get money coming in. At least he is out trying to funds for Fannin County. As for the property taxes, Mr. Simmonds has nothing to do with your property tax bill.The county did not raise the millage rate. I did spit it out. Yall think people like Volrath and Bruce hurt this county and yet we have someone in there now that is even worse.

You want facts? Go up to the courthouse and use the open records log to get 1 month of all county expenditures. Go through it line by line and find the proof yourself.

Im not going to give proof because that would reveal myself and I cant afford to do that right now. But trust me, the evidence is there for anyone who does the investigating.

Have you provided that information anonymously to Dub Joiner at the News Observer? You might want to try that. He's pretty open to "seeing" the truth if you have the documentation.

I agree...Simonds is just trying to clean up the mess that Bruce created by not doing his job. So, if he does his job he gets bashed for trying. I just don't understand people. By the way, why doesn't this Fannin County Employee come forward, instead of stabbing someone in the back. SAY IT TO THEIR FACE!! AND PROVIDE THE FACTS!!

I totally agree. you cant talk smack an not own up to it. bill is one of the best commissioners this county has ever seen! all he is doing is trying to help! he never has a free second he is always working and meeting with people to try and make fannin county a better place! i see this first hand every day. we are lucky to have him, if you dont like him then maybe you should try and do the job yourself. you cant make everyone happy, some people just like to complain and will nit pick at everything.

I don't know Mr. Simonds personally but my dad liked him and he was a good judge of character. I also know he has been very good to my daughter, Sarah, who works in his offce. This has to be a tough job and I wouldn't do it. ANd as for Vollrath he is the devil. He was heartless, sneaky, and evil. So glad he is gone.

Vollrath was a hell of a lot better commissioner than Billy Simonds will ever be.

I can tell by the language of some of the replies who at least one of you are. Shouldn't you be working over there in the commissioners office instead of typing on topix? Oh....perhaps its the person on the 3rd floor. No way, who would imagine that. LOL!

you no you can be a whistle blower and never give you name dont you ? shows how much you really no about this kinda thing. all you have to do is get a copy of the records and send them in the mail with out a return adress and none will be the wiser. as for bill simmonds i do no bill and i do no that if there is a problem dont hide behind a key board he would rather some one be open and straight to the point. now as for your job dont be scared unless you are just afraid . cause if losing your job worries you just think about someone eles losing theirs do you plan on supporting them if they get fired ????????
