Just to extend the discussion from an other posting. Let's go for it let it all hang out. Kommunist Kove wrote: Well, let's see here. Bankruptcy? I don't know about that. But let's examine something related - Walker Place developed and built by Dewald Construction. Cove's old Mayor, Bradi Diaz, is a Dewald. Smell a rat? I sure do. The smell of rat is all over cove. What ever you do do not buy from the local crooks. Remember the fire house that was started by the Dewalts and cost the city millions and still didn't get a Fire station. Why don't the local papers ask for the E-Mails that the Council sent back and forth? The server that cove has keeps all E-Mails. Thomson or the city is BS ing they can't retrieve those E-Mails. How about the Computers at the school Heinze worked at. I heard from a good source she tried to delete the information on the school computer. Kommunist Kove Copperas Cove, TX Reply » |Report Abuse |Judge it!|#7 16 hrs ago Judged: 1 1 IMO Heinze is a POS, as are the rest of the council members. This will come to a head very soon. Also, the former Mayor has contacted the US Postal Inspectors about his personal mail, and mail addressed to his wife, being opened by the City Secretary. When the secretary was asked why she did this she replied the City Attorney ordered her to do it. I smell a disbarment, a couple of firings, and possible fine and prison time coming soon. PatsyVille Resident Copperas Cove, TX Reply » |Report Abuse |Judge it!|#8 13 hrs ago I wonder how the City Secretary can look herself in the mirror. Can you imagine her smiling chit chat with the former mayor and once his back was turned, she was making notes to pass to the City Manager and City Attorney. Eventually, one has to pay a price for dealing with the devil. It may not come this week, this month, this year, but it will come. PatsyVille Resident Copperas Cove, TX Reply » |Report Abuse |Judge it!|#9 13 hrs ago One has to be careful when buying with some of our builders. I remember visiting a family in a house built off of the southern part of Creek Street some years back. I asked the lady about the odd size of her garage. Oh, did I hit a nerve. They were overseas when they committed to buy the new house. It appeared to be a two car garage, but when they saw it in person, they realized they had been duped. It was more like a 1 1/2 car garage. Her household goods were being delivered shortly and they basically got stuck with it because of time constraints and needing to get settled in for the school year. djr AOL Reply » |Report Abuse |Judge it!|#10 13 hrs ago Judged: 1 Patsy Your right. I wonder though why would the secretary do such things for the City Attorney. Is she in fear of her job, or.....was it something else. PatsyVille Resident Copperas Cove, TX

I would submit that if the mayor cannot suggest the city secretary do something that is required as a matter of US and state law, then the city attorney really overstepped bounds when he "ordered" her to violate federal law.

I would go further and ask "Who did that imbecile sleep with to get her job?" She refused to follow a gentle "suggestion" from the mayor about bringing the city's government into compliance with federal and state law, and yet she willfully obeys an "order" to violate federal law.

If Cove has a good IT person (city & school) the servers are backed up daily or weekly depending on the space size on the server allotted for email storage. It is required by law to have a historical record of all city or school business to prevent or protect them from any legal actions. So if you know the date of the emails in question the IT person should be able to go to the backup tape and download the email for that day. I have over 23 yrs experience through the Army on IT procedures and I know that even if Mrs Henize deleted email it can still be recovered not only from the hard drive of the PC she worked on but also from the server.

I hope the news media prints the emails for all to see. Avoiding the Open Meetings law opens one up to prosecution. It would not surprise me if the majority of our city council members are guilty and I would like the see the role our city attorney, city manager and secretary placed in this big mess.
Some are so bold, they dare citizens to hold them accountable. Obviously, they think their special interest influence persons will keep them immune from prosecution.

On another blog, it seems O'Die requested copies of emails from Jan 07 to present that Heinze sent using her high school computer. CCISD replied that it will take them until May 8 or so to retrieve them and gave him an estimate of costs. So, IMO they acknowledge they have them and can retrieve them. Heinze going to jail!!

It seems to me that a lot of people on here make statements that are not entirely true.... Sometimes a city or business does not have the capacity to save something forever....that costs a lot of money. They are at the mercy of the budget they are given. It is the council that should be allocating the funds to allow for the storage capability!!!

By the way, how many of you check your email at work, and quickly respond? I am sure she has down time, just like the rest of you. You should not throw rocks when you live in a glass house.

B.S. These emails are retrievable, and that buffoon, pompous idiot city attorney Thompson knows it. He's stonewalling. He's going to jail, too.

It is too late to try and talk your way out of it. Remember, the mayor was removed from office based on technicalities and now you want to say it is okay for someone to use "downtime" and city and CCISD property. Got news for you. It is not okay.

Believe me - Thompson is under investigation by the US Postal Service and by the Coryell County DA and State AG. He will get his very, very soon. Gardner and Lees, IMO, are also involved and will be implicated. The City Council (Peterson, Heinze, Clayton Reeves) will be recalled. Harris is finished in this city running for any public office. Somera was just an uninformed stooge who is not running for reelection. The City will be returned to its' citizens.

I take issue with what you say about Somera. He was informed by citizens. For someone reason he broke ranks with the citizens and joined the City Attorney.
Do not vote for John Gallen. He has caused enough damage to the city.

I have already early voted. I voted for Willie Goode for Place 6 and Danny Palmer for Place 7. I was undecided up until I pushed the button about Place 7 - Frank Seffrood also a good choice.

I've only lived in Copperas Cove coming up on two years now. About a month ago I registered to vote here instead of my home state (military) because I wanted to vote in the local elections here. I've read how many of you feel about the candidates, but can you give me some insight on some of the propositions? I know people have said that some of them are tricky. Thanks for your help.

I am not a puppet, nor do I work for Cove government. Aren't you the smart one? I do know for a FACT that you do not know what you are talking about. You guys all go on and on ranting and raving. Why not stand outside the City Hall with pitchforks and torches. You sound like idiots. They make meds for people like you. What I said was everyone checks their email at work, prosecute- ooohh that is a great usage of our court system. Let's fire a teacher for checking her email. Oh brother. Maybe you don't understand because you don't have a professional job. Are you one of those obnoxious people that call from GC Services? I hang up on you...Or do you say, Do you want fries with that? The true problem with Cove is all the "too much time on their hands, do gooder, rednecks!!!" There is no major investigations....or any of the other nonsense you speak of. OOOOHHHH maybe the FBI is coming- get serious! Your thoughts are grandios, unreasonable, and just plain ignorant. As for all your little friends.... Diane Steele is a fruit loop, she doesn't even look normal! lady brush your hair, it will make you look a little more sane the next time you go to the forum to read poetry. Odie was an inappropriate, and very difficult man. He did ridiculous things, pay attention to all the meetings and what is said, you will see. Sheppard is an a hole. Everyone in this town that has done business with him will agree. The one thing I will agree with..Fred Harris should not be on the council. Kommunist Kove...I would be led to believe you may be one of the above people. lol...You seem to me a very closed minded person, probably an old redneck jerk, stop trying to lynch everyone and get over yourself. Do you only have hatred for authority figures or do you extend it to minorities and homosexuals as well? You want this town better? Make it look better. It looks like a trash pit. Clean up all the nasty trailor parks-they should not be in the city limits anyway IMO, make people take some pride in their homes. Cove being trashy as it is, is just attracting more and more trashy people. Just because you are poor does not mean you have to act or look like trash..........Oh did I offend you?
