Has anyone heard when we will be having an election to fill the place 5 vacancy? I hate not having full representation on the council and that empty seat looks so sad.

I was wondering the same thing ? Seems his book signing tour is more important than our city, why did he run in the first place ? I imagine only he can answer that, but he needs to be put on the firing line if he ever shows back up.

I heard his Cowboy books make "BrokeBack Mountain" look like a Clint Eastwood movie.

My absences were totally Federal Government work to support our combat troops. The work was scheduled 3 months ago on the weeks that were not City Council Regular Meeting weeks. The city changed the meetings for October to the weeks that I had already committed money, time, and personnel; therefore could not be changed on a whim like the city seems to think the Council Meetings can be changed. November 3rd was the only meeting that was unexpected and I had to miss the Council meeting while attending planning meetings at the Pentagon. All except the Nov 3rd have been excused meetings. I will not address the book comments but it is obvious that this person is less than intelligent and has his sexually preference foremost in his mind. Recorded comments from an Austin Book Reviewer stated that my books were written in the Louis L'Amour style, not as good as most of his works but better than quite a few of them. I appreciate the tolerance of the citzens in support of our troops in the combat zones as my work ensures that they have the latest tools to do their job safely and saves lives. The city is in capable hands while I am gone and this should be the last meeting I will have to miss during the remainder of my term.

question for you. at any/during any of your travels with/for the federal government have you done your book signings? Why was the 11/03 meeting not planned out like the rest of your federal travel? No, I haven't had a book signing this year. Since they are now listed on Amazon Kindle I do not do book signings.
The travel listed on my web site is travel and most of it is strictly work related; one was for vacation. I post this travel as I have been asked to speak at writer organization meetings occasionally and have been asked to speak to the English classes at two high schools---at no cost to the schools or writer organizations and not on government time.
The unexpected planning meeting was because the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle was just certified the last of October and the new fieldings of the system is for a quick deployment of the new certified software.

While I appreciate your desire to serve the citizens of Cove I do believe there is a problem with you missing so many meetings in a row. Excused or not. Then again with some of the bat-poop crazy stuff you've done up there it might be a good thing you are gone so often. I guess we shouldn't be looking a gift horse in the mouth.

And yet, when it was another councilmember who missed meetings for his job, his money, his government, you thought it was ok to have him recalled? That is the problem I have with this;not that you're gone often, but that it was a problem until it was happening to you. Ya gotta be careful about that. Comes back to bite you.

Before the IP address sleuths and the lawyers are called I want to stress that my comments are satire. I have never read Mr. (not Dr.) Stephens books and never will. They could be as manly and non-gay as David Hasselhof. I hope my comments don't take away from the real point which is he doesn't show up to any meetings and when he does he just causes problems with his lack of knowledge and/or comprehension problems. He comes up for reelection next year. Don't follow his lead. Actually show up to the polls and don't vote for him.

Bill Stephens, is one of the sorriest Council persons (as a council person) I have ever seen. He tries to appear so important and is in fact ignorant of the issues at hand. If he does run for reelection I sure hope that people that don't keep up with the Councils actions check him out. It would be a disaster to have to put up with him for 3 years. He may write good books, do well at his job but as a representive of his constituants he stinks.

Hope Councilman Stephens makes it to the meeting next week. I will be taking bets that he will not make all of the remaining meeting during his time on council as he has stated here ?
Now if he resigns next week then that statement would be correct !
