Hopefully, this lady is on a probationary period. She is in way over her head and should move back into the finance area where she is qualified (I think). I should have stated move to another city. We don't need her here. Course it was great that she was available. I am sure that is one of the reasons that Steve Alexander thought it would be a good time for him to leave. Could still have a piece of the action but wouldn't be forced out when the citizens take back the city from the special interest groups whom Steve Alexander catered to.

Steve Alexander has been gone for over a year now and I still don't see your group taking back over the City Council yet ? You forget the City Council is elected by the people and the silent majority are very pleased with the work your council is doing at this time.

You don't see us taking back over the City Council yet? Where have you been?? Willie Goode and Frank Seffrood will win the run-off elections. Diane Steele's petitions will force the recalls of the four stooges. Then with new people on the council it will be good-bye, adios, auf weidersehen, and chao to Thompson, Gardner and Lees.

I will be watching to see what happens. As far as Willie Goode is concerned he can not even run his own finance right what will he do with the cities. He has a car at Mid Tex that he can not even afford to pick up it's been there for over 30 days now. He really does not have a clue what he is doing.

I understand he's had financial problems the past few months. He added to those woes by spending quite a bit on his campaign. That has nothing to do with sitting on the city council.

I understand he got free advertizing from the leader press. Also that od'ie was a strong support of him financially. I like Willie but not sure he understands how the council works as a part of goverment. Would be better for him if Sheppard was not there.

It reminds of the city not annexing nearby land owned by the family of a sitting Copperas Cove council member. Seems there was also some talk about running water lines. Yes, it sometimes is beneficial to get that $25 a meeting salary.

I understand that also, but was unaware of this issue until now. I am against special interest groups and hidden agends just like every one else is. These types of issues need to be raised to the council prior to any vote so they have all the facts to base their decisions on.

Walter, what you don't seem to grasp is that the "council of buddies" are the ones who refused to even consider this. O'Dwyer was against it so they all turned on him. This violation of the charter garbage they used to get rid of him is only their excuse. When O'Die was on the school board the other members turned on him when he raised hell because a newly constructed school had a leaking roof before the first student ever occupied the building. Oh yeah, forget to tell you, the builder was Dewald Construction!!

Oh yeah, forget to tell you, the builder was Dewald Construction!! No, he was the construction manager. Got something like $200,000 or more a year to oversee construction in the school system. The special interest person used to tell us what a good deal the tax payers were getting. He may have even gotten a per centage of the contract. Couldn't and didn't do his job. Cafeteria at Holly Parsons had some bad roof leaks. The job was basically a gift. Some people over in Temple weren't too happy. He built them a gym that had a load bearing column right beside the boundary line on the basketball court. Real idiot put that one in. Never heard if it was corrected. After he got ran out of CCISD gravy position, the same person who was probably a silent partner went to work trying to get him in as a construction manager for Central Texas College. Then we had the Robertson Street fire station fiasco on the Mickan property which was bought without any consideration to price. Can you imagine having a fire station right at one of our major intersections on Highway 190. Copperas Cove City Manager Richard Torres saved us on this one. Course we still took a beating. Fled to Salado to let things cool off a bit. Came back and the back slapping and winking started all over again. .

Do you not also see a common thread here O'Dwyer seems to be in the middle of all of these issues ? Surely he is not always right ? Why do people always run him off ? Seems to be a pattern for him do you not think ?

What you have to understand, is that many of our elected officials start out good and represent the people. After a period of time there is a noticeable shift of who they are representing and it is not Joe Citizen. I think O'Dwyer is an indpendent. Has everything that he wants, so he not looking for any favors for himself. He is a people's candidate and takes this title seriously. So this makes a Lone Ranger out of him and politicans who have given up their independence side with special interest wheels in their efforts to take care of themselves.

I would like to thank everyone who voted for PROP 6 (1219 For 95% of the 1373 who voted) We will no longer see Harris as a councilman or mayor (I think this is the job he wanted when he decided not to run for a second term). Now we need to get Mr Goode & Sefford into office. Again I know I'm late insaying this but THANK YOU COVE!!!!

Perhaps after Willie Goode and few others are seated on the Copperas Cove City Council, the agenda item concerning Councilman Robert Reeves consecutive absences will be acted on. Previously it was tabled. Councilman Robert Reeves enjoyed presiding over the firing of the mayor, so it would give him the opportunity to receive the same treatment. Only difference is that his flagrant abuse of the missed meetings rule is not a mere infraction of failing to dot the i's and cross the t's. Councilman Robert Reeves has failed to represent Joe and Jane Citizen of Copperas Cove by his frequent absences and catering to the special interest groups. We are looking forward to getting rid of Councilman Robert Reeves. It will be interesting to see our powerful city attorney using his vast legal knowledge and expertise to save Councilman Robert Reeves.

As of yesterday evening she had approximately 250 signatures. Not bad for only 2 days. I don't know how she did today. We should add many more this weekend. Ms. Steele is stationed at the L'il Tex Parking lot across the street from city hall where early voting is going. She will be there again on Monday and Tuesday. She also is planning to cover bingo sessions at the local VFW on Saturday and Sunday. We have 45 days to get the required signatures, but sure would be nice to have them not later than election day (June 7).

Do you all know that if she is successful in this recall of 4 council members it will shut the city of CXopperas Cove down for 7 months. If the city is shut down for 7 months TXDOT is not going to wait around to build the releiver route which will bring retail business into Copperas Cove they will just move on to Temple and Cove will just loose out and no retail mall willl be built loing thousands of tax dollas for the community. Thanks to Ms Steele.
