Ok so I go to Heights, and I want to say, yes yall did win, but where was your control after the game? When you came down to the high school field house, and messed with the football players cars? Really we didnt touch your personal belongings! Was it necessary for you to paint there cars? Was it necessary for you to steal there stuff? I think we had more control. Yes they did fight, and I can't say they didn't, but yall need to learn self control. Really now? Yall won, ok? Who cares? Its high school fb! I go to the games for fun, idc who wins. So please next time you have something to say about the game remember yall did stuff too. You are in the wrong also! If you recall yall did late hits, which worked up our guys emotions.

who here knew that Cove fans beat the Harker Heights bus home and tagged every single car at there field house with messages that state "YOU SUCK" "GO DAWGS" "COURTESY OF #1" "YALL SUCK" and many other obnoxious things? Or that some cars got pulled over for tryna tail the heights busses home? Who knows what there intent was. So the way I see it Neither team showed any class what so ever.

The fact that you call yourself "chick" says all we need to know! What is up with the bad spelling and grammar from you kids? Is this the quality education the taxpayers are paying for? Shameful!

In defense of the education system, I am a teacher and I'm afraid to say poor spelling and grammar is representative of kids everywhere. We do our best to teach them, but they don't use the rules when they write on their own. Knightschick wrote much better than many kids I have seen. The reason I wrote well growing up was due to my upbringing, which encouraged reading over TV or video games. Kids today are not being nourished intellectually. It starts at home and there is only so much teachers can do in the little time we are given and by an education system that tries to dictate our failure rate.

As for the game, it was ridiculous and it needs to be investigated. There isn't much defense for the Knights' conduct, but most kids will act as bad as you let them so I question their coaches' discipline. Any Cove students who may have vandalized cars afterward were not necessarily athletes. They were thugs looking for a reason to act like thugs, and those kind are in every school.

I had heard about the Cars being tagged. I can tell you the boys wernt released from the Coaches back at the field house until around 2330. So I am pretty sure it wasnt any of the players. Also, if it was dont by the time the players returned to Heights it had to have happened during the game. Most likely planned and executed much earlier, BEFORE the excitement. I would chalk this up to teenage high school prank not retaliation.

I dont think anyone on here has been saying that the Cove fans are angels. I have heard alot back and forth about it. I think you see that in any cross-town rivalry. The issue that has generated the most discussion is the on-field antics.

Ok, i agree we did act badly, but you cant put all of the blame on us! Yall played dirty, and yes i know there is no excuse for how our team acted. Also why is it that all yall care about is everyones grammer? Im sorry, but I dont think this is a matter of grammer, I believe this is a matter of how the teams acted. And in my eyes, its equal, both teams are to blame!

Unfortunately it is what the taxpayers in KISD pay for - Heights High School was rated UNACCEPTABLE by the TEA.

Maybe I'm confused. Is your defense the Knights were only guilty of a horrable display of classless lack of sportsmanship once rather than twice? Interesting take, my friend.

You're not a junior. You're an embarrassment to the game, youngster. A quality football player is a young man who can act like a man. He indeed plays the game hard. He hits hard and is hit hard, but never lowers himself to being a thug. Handling pain and stress like a man with class is what the game is really about. It is played properly by young MEN the caliber of our Dawgs and not by the angry BOYS who lost their tempers.

I was there with my family. I have to say that it was probably the worst display of sportsmanship I have ever seen. Both teams were up and there was alot of emotion. I think both teams had some personal fouls against them and were a bit chippy. But that is what Referees are for. To control the field of play. Heights rushed the field the first time after some pushing and shoving. After the play was finished and a flag had been thrown #40 from Heights drilled one of the cove players from 5 yds away. That caused Heights to rush the field. The Cove players on the field reacted but the players on the sideline kept their discipline. Second fight was caused when Green from Cove made a fair but hard tackle on a Height player. A couple of the Heights players jumped on him which stated the general melee. Again, the Cove players on the sideline stayed their ground.
I was watching form the Heights side, with HH students parents, and the above is a pretty accurate account. I would correct two things: First, scuffling, pushing off, and pushing back to ground of opponents was happening from both sides, as it does to some degree in every game, especially one as hard fought, and previously well played by both teams. It did seem that HH's players were the instigators, dejected from their very hard and pretty darn good football play not putting the points on the board. The first incident did explode after the blatant late hit from Knights #40 but also from a Cove player getting shoved back to the ground well after the ball was blown dead. The second incident was not others pushing on the Cove player that tackled HH's Green, but instead Green himself throwing a hand up under the defensive players facemask and shoving the Cove player back to turf by the face. The melee that ensued included HH helmets being swung like weapons, players throwing their own coaches to the ground to get around them, and a complete inability of the HH staff to control their players. After the second brawl HH students and (I can't believe I have to say it) parents actually congratulated and cheered their team for the absolute breakdown in discipline, sportsmanship, and maturity. The folks from Heights I was with were absolutely embarrassed, and expressed their disgust.

Sorry Knights parents and fans, your guys blew it that night. Although it would be unfortunate for next years Seniors, I think that HH should be suspended form Varsity football competition for the 2010 season. Obviously the coaching staff does not have the ability to control the players, and the school has fostered an atmosphere where this type of conduct is welcomed. A suspension from competition would clearly send the message that this will not be tolerated in UIL athletics.

I can't hold it against Cove players to defend themselves and their teammate during actions like that. HH cleared their bench twice, the second much more dramatically than the first. Cove stayed on the sidelines. A couple wanted to get into it, but the coaches kept Cove on their bench.

Thank you for identifying yourself as #27, Brandon Orr, Senior Wide Receiver for Harker Heights. You have demonstrated your absolute lack of understanding for sportsmanship and maturity. I can only guess that this is due to your coaches failures to instill these qualities in you. They, your parents, and your community have obviously failed you. I sincerely hope that you were being scouted this year, and that when they "google" your name this post will show.

Were you one of the HH parents that I had a bit of an argument with about congratulating your own team for their disgraceful behavior? If not then this is a societal issue in Heights, because you certainly sound alike. Adults, not being able to accept their teams actions. If Cove fans tagged the cars, they are also wrong, and shame the rest of us proud, and respectful DAWG fans.

I rechecked the roster I found, it may have been an old roster. The HH own website does not identify a #27 on the team. If I am in error then my apologies to Mr. Orr. Whomever Varsity27 is though, the comment still applies.

#27 Brandon Orr is listed on this roster for 2009 and it includes a lovely photo! I also could find no stats for him on any sites so he is either no longer on the team(i.e. a quitter or forced off) or he is a certified bench warmer!

Well no matter what happened I think we can all agree that if Cove had been the team that cleared the bench twice it would've been on state-wide news and welch would've been fired. Funny how nobody else cares since it was Heights.

As the saying goes, " 'Tis better to have played and lost, than to have gone out of the season acting like a group of crying, pathetic, self deprecating, toddlers throwing a temper tantrum."

Daily Horoscope for December 23

Aquarius

Someone is being bombastic and overbearing, and you don't like it. You aren't prepared to take their behavior lying down, but standing up to them is likely to result in a rip-roaring row. Well, it seems that the row is almost inevitable, and perhaps that's just as well because it won't do you any good to swallow your anger or tolerate this person's boorishness for much longer.
