Harker Heights football game/match?

Does anyone know about the football game last night? I heard it was bad... HH players and staff fighting. Called the game early due to it? Isn't this the same school we have to have police escorts for for basketball games?
Any arrests?

It was bad. Harker Heights cleared their bench twice last night. I would be suprised if their coach isn't fired over the incident. I wasn't there, but heard the second time that some of the HH coaching staff was on the field throwing punches. Both times Cove stayed on the sidelines. Just goes to show how diciplined and well coached our guys are.

That's what I heard, too. That Cove looked good, despite the actions of HH. Just too bad that the HH coaches would do that - also that they let an ejected player wander talking to the team and then to the fans. Stupid!

I wasn't there but listened to it on the radio.
Evidently, according to a couple of friends I talked to today who were there, it was worse than what was described on the radio and the lame article in the Killeen Daily Herald.
A Heights player even took off one of his cleats and threw it at one of our coaches.
The UIL needs to clamp down hard on this baloney and, IMO, suspend any Heights player who was "too far involved" from any more sports this school year. Tape exists of it. Whether the UIL will do anything remains to be seen.

Also all the surrounding communitites believe Cove was fighting...the paper said nothing to exonerate Cove. I wonder if they are going to show the game Weds night?

The Kommunist Daily Herald has, in the past two years, completely turned against Cove. I guess more and more Coveites are dropping their subscriptions and this is their payback. I know I quit subscribing to that paper 3 years ago.

It will be interesting to see if they show it Wed. night. I'll bet not but I'd like to see it. I hope that the tapes are shown to UIL and something done.

is it just me or did you completely skip the fact that heights cleared their bench twice while cove remained on the sideline being disciplined?

Coach Welch just held his hands up and the boys stayed on the sideline, some even went and sat down in disgust because they saw their teammates being hit. I was proud of our boys and coaches Friday night. Any idea why the defensive coach was so agitated and had to be taken off the field after the second game?

I imagine it was because the thugs from Knightsville were punching the crap out of his defensive guys. Hopefully the UIL has a discipline plan for the Heights coach and players that meet with them this week.

I was there with my family. I have to say that it was probably the worst display of sportsmanship I have ever seen. Both teams were up and there was alot of emotion. I think both teams had some personal fouls against them and were a bit chippy. But that is what Referees are for. To control the field of play. Heights rushed the field the first time after some pushing and shoving. After the play was finished and a flag had been thrown #40 from Heights drilled one of the cove players from 5 yds away. That caused Heights to rush the field. The Cove players on the field reacted but the players on the sideline kept their discipline. Second fight was caused when Green from Cove made a fair but hard tackle on a Height player. A couple of the Heights players jumped on him which stated the general melee. Again, the Cove players on the sideline stayed their ground.

Had this been Shoemaker involved, KDH would have put it on the front page!! Some students went off campus at lunch to fight at that made big news. The HHHS football team does it on a Friday with cameras rolling and nothing....

Then you should realize that your team not having a shot at playoffs and get upset like fourteen year old girls will probably land you in jail someday. Hope you enjoyed watching a team with actual discipline on the other end of the field.

14 year old girls have more maturity then you obviously do! Maybe you need to learn the discipline you say the cove team has! Im not disagreeing with what you said but how you said it! Choose your words a little differently and you might get your point across better!

You know darn well that cove was hitting after the whistle was blown causing some fights yea heights cleared the bench but both teams were wrong for fighting.
