Jerry Conner, the Executive Director of the Copperas Cove Economic Development Corporation, officially resigned from his position at the EDC board meeting today.Jerry Conner, the Executive Director of the Copperas Cove Economic Development Corporation, officially resigned from his position at the EDC board meeting today.

The news came after reconvening into open session following the EDC’s executive session, which lasted about an hour and a half. Dan Yancey, board chairman, said he would be preparing an official statement regarding the issue.

Phone calls to Conner seeking comment went unreturned.

I thought that I had read that Conners was to be with the EDC thru January. But I am told that he was at the EDC building the morning after his so called resignation and loaded a bunch of stuff into his pickup. THEN ,I am told that Monday morning a locksmith was rekeying all of the doors on the building. I guess that he is to be paid through the month of January but his services are no longer needed. Can someone give me the answer to what has happened ?

The announcement stated he would be retained as a "consultant" through Jan 2010. In other words, they'll pay him to go away.

I heard this week that one of the Board members made the comment that the EDC director did not leave because of his own wishes. Sounds about right. It would not have taken an hour and a half to accept his resignation and I don't think that the board would have been begging him to stay. Too much pressure on the board from the citizens.

You can hear a lot of rumors and speculations about the ex-director. I would guess that some of them are true. If some that I have heard are correct than let's just hope that he took his money and left town.( But paid all of his bills before he left) We would need no more of his advise that seemed not to have been very productive. Maybe those great things that were to happen ,may still happen. Who knows.

Daily Horoscope for December 11

Gemini

Beware of taking on too much because it will be an effort to get through it all. You might even have to give up the unequal struggle, which won't do much for your ego or your reputation. Be especially careful about this if you're at work because a certain person may try to take advantage of what they see as your weakness or failure to deliver the goods.
