If the Dawgs keep playing the way they have been playing they will win this game. Go Dawgs.

They don't get any easier. Klein Oak is a very good team - big and fast. The Dawgs D will have to get after it in this one. Will our expolosive ground game be able to move the ball against KO?
This will need to be, again, a total team effort, but the Dawgs have it in them.

Know Klein Oak well. They are much better Cy Ridge (see their record with Cy Creek the district champ). They have a very good defense and can run and throw on offense. Look forward to a very good game.

You're going nowhere but back home after your leaves have been plucked on Friday night.
Let's see here - Corsicana must be a 3 hour bus ride for you guys from Klein. That's a long ride after a loss!

Hey Retired guy can we not all play nice? Just looking forward to a good game. I think fans from both sides should be very proud how far both of these teams have come. Remember this is the best high school football played in the nation. I think it is a honor that Klein Oak is getting to play a progarm with great tradtion. let your bitterness go and enjoy the game.

Hey retired guy lets play nice. Both schools are very good are they would not be here. As for winning are lossing it will still be a long drive. Best of luck to all the kids. I hope the best team wins and I will not know that until late Friday night. Please for the sake of man kind try to be nice. If you cannot be nice a know a great finishing school you can go to! Remember even you are not to old to learn. Howeer, I question your ability to learn.

Dave Campbell's Texas Football website and 5ATexasFootball.com both pick Cove to win this one.
Klein Oak is a powerhouse. They won their district and it's a tough one. They are big and fast.
The Dawgs' speed and quickness will have to wear them down. But Nic Greene became a true QB last Friday night. If he's clicking with the passing game, I can see Cove winning this one.
Should be a great battle. There are no cream puffs left in the playoffs. The pretenders all pretty much bowed out in the first round. All the turkeys were gone by Thanksgiving!!

I'm inclined to concur that these guys are indeed a fine team. You are dead on when you say that all eight of the teams left in Div II of 5A ball that are left in the hunt are quality. There is no question that District 13 5A is a very competitive district. Their record in out of district play this year was a very respectable 8-3 combined record. I find it interesting that the teams in this district played eiter 9 or 8 games. Not being cridical I just don't understand the reasoning. Most folks I know play 10 regular season games. With 8 teams in the district everyone of course played 7 district games but some of the squads only played one out of district contest and no one played more than 2.
Looking at the playoff picture and record so far it is understandable why Dave Campll's guys would be inclined to pick Cove. Although the teams both show themselves to be top of the line Cove shows a bit more in playoff performance. Indeed we did start off like KO playing a team with a losing record we beat them 21-7 and they had just finished their season with a shocker over Mequite. No question Mesquite Horn was a much better club than their 4-6 record indicated. Klein Oak drew 4-5 Conroe Oak Ridge and bested them by 7. Indeed they did beat Cy Creek by 28 in the second round but it should be noted that Cy Ridge got to the second round by escaping Cedar Park by 6. The recent blow out of Lake Highlands by Klein Oak by 24 would be more impressive if LH had had their star running back in the contest. It must be remembered that without this guy the LH team got by John Tyler by a single point in the second round. JT made it to the second round by defeating our old friend Shoemaker.
Again there is no doubt that both teams look good and have excellent records but on paper one must give the edge to Cove. That said the most common use for paper can be found in the outhous.
I believe Cove will prevail against a very good team. I believe we have seen our toughest task until we play for the state championship and I believe that will be against Katy. Mercy what a ball game that would be. Hide the women and children that night.

Hurricane Ike wiped out two of their scheduled games, as it did many of the teams in that area. That's why you see the Dawgs at 12-1 and other teams at 10 - 1, 9-2, etc.

If our running and passing game can continue to be as dominate as it has, I believe we have a good chance of winning. I'm not saying this game will be a blowout, I think it'll stay close till the end. The game will come down to a 4th quarter defensive stand, and which ever team does that will come away with the victory. It won't be a high scoring game, the cove defense is very solid and doesn't make many mistakes, and the klein oak defense is very fast and swarm to the ball. And just wondering if some one could help me out, who is number 9 on klein oak? I haven't seen him all year, and against Lake Highlands he did pretty good. Anyway, looking foward to a great game tonight. The three hour drive will be worth it. Go OAK!

I've noticed that. I thought maybe it was number 8 instead but while 8 was on special teams 9 was standing on the sideline.

Might be a player from the JV who was brought up for the playoffs. Cove does a lot of that every year. They don't expect to play, but the coach rewards them for an outstanding season.

Daily Horoscope for December 27

Scorpio

If you haven't seen certain people during the past few days, how about inviting them over for a drink or a meal? You're feeling sociable and will enjoy doing some light entertaining although you'll draw the line at anything too strenuous. It's a lovely day for being in familiar surroundings with some familiar faces, even if all you do is flop on the sofa.
