Rancher ( E.C. Mullendore)

Who killed the Mullendore back in the 70s.

Hell I think his old man had him killed, but many people didn't care for him.

I think he paid his body guard, Chub Anderson, to kill him. Either that or Linda paid Chub to kill him. Regardless who paid him, it was Chub. Who now lives around Caney. Very sick old man.

Chub was arrested and is now in jail,unless they let him go lsat year. I have been thinking maybe Chub and E.C. got in a drunking fight and Chub killed him and made the rest up. One thing for sure he had some people that wanted him dead ,or their lifes would be better off if he was.
It would had made a great movie years ago,rich Osage Indian and all.

some say it was the old man.. I read on another board that he suffered the effects of long term siphilus (sp) and one of those effects was mental illness. i know he was a mean SOB! this is jmo

I heard the same about him, first I heard about Siphilus, but who knows, I know the ranch is still going. I had a cousin work for them, and he was not one of the hands that was out of jail.I don't know how much land they have these days, but I am sure the oil wells will start pumping again on the land.

Katsy's daughter is running the ranch now. I ride my motorcycle by there pretty often.(great ride) I have noticed over the years that there seems that lately there are not so much cattle as there are horses.(just my observation) and yes, oil. I have ask Bill Kurtis to do a "Cold Case File" episode on the murder. He said he gets more requests for that from local people than any thing else. I know Chub hangs around Caney a lot. Can see him in the Gunny Sack or the Caney Kitchen very often.

I was thinking they sent him back to jail on old durg charges about a year ago. And yes she is into horses and has a web site set up whre they show and sell them.
I ike to see a move done about the family,and cold case file also.

they did arrest him. but let him go, i believe because of his health. would cost montgomery county to much money to keep him?

wow that sure made big news around here for a few weeks anyway. I was thinking it was a different county he was jailed at. Maybe he will tell all on his death bed to hell.

they initially brought him into chautaqua county. moved him to montgomery (due to health). I do not think he will ever tell all he knows. i have heard from people that know people close to him that he will take it all to grave!

More then likely, but one would think hes wife and the lawer that she ended up with had him killed. Anyway would had made a great movie and could had started out with the Osage at the start of the movie and Osage head rights that came in to play with many.

i think it was assisted suicide. he had one hell of a life insurance policy and was wanted by many! and i think his wife was a dirty gold diggin gypsy.

or maybe it was the canadian mafia!

Seems like the Great State of Oklahoma has no interest in getting this crime solved. Cold Case Files has to many shows that would air before this one , more current stories. Looks like all the evidence still point to Chub Anderson. The Mullendore family do not act like they care if this crime is solved either! They all got what they wanted after E.C. was shot and killed. Money and power, that is what this story is all about isn't it? Life goes on without E.C. but justice cries out from the grave.

I posted my comments for today on the Mullendore murder case. In retrospect, remember time is of the essence, due to the fact that the few people who are stll alive are the only ones who have information reguarding the night of the murder. Chub's health is failing and sheriff George Wayman would be pleased to know his work was not in vain.

Myself I think it was the wife that had it done, with the help of Chub.
Their was said a will know hitman out of Kansas city also may had done the deed also.
One thing for sure many people wanted to have him killed.( Some around here even said that old Gene had it done,but I don't think so account he loved E.C. to much.

If you will recall in the book about the Cross Bell Ranch, they needed money. E.C. being a despirate man, did some crazy things! The night of the murder he and Chub had been drinking, tempers flared and I think Chub lost it and shot him. Remember, E.C. was expecting to get a loan the next day, also Chub did not sell the cattle for E.C., therefore he did not have the check E.C. needed so badly. Chub had to be sick and tired of putting up with E.C. Chub was a man servent and earned every dime he made. E.C. had gotten to the point that he could not function without Chub. He did everything but wipe his nose for him! How long could you put up with this behavior? After so much evidence was destoyed at the scene of the crime, at the hospital, the funeral home etc.. Chub could not be charged. If they could recover DNA , as we can today, Chub would be the guilty one. Recall the piece of bone fragment that was on Chub's hat but was lost at the sheriffs department. Wish they could all go back in time and do that investigation again.

I think Gene would had had Chub killed if he knew for sure he killed E.C.

I think he probably did have an affair with Linda . I imagine Chub looked pretty good to her, considering her husband was drunk most of the time. I do not think they were"in love" just lust! She counted on Chub also, he helped with her children and was more of a father fiqure at that time than E.C. Gene trusted Chub and ask him to look after E.C. Therefore he had total trust in him. No reason to blame Chub. Linda did not waste anytime marring her attorney after E.C. died. Sad truth is ,everyone did benefit from E.C.'s death.

Where is Linda now, and did she stayed married to her Lawyer.
