If by "close minded" you mean conservative, then yes, Idaho is very conservative overall. But you should'nt use the word close minded, because it sounds like you are asking "Does Idaho agree with me on "X", or are they not smart enough to?" If you are asking about tolerance, most of those things you listed are tolerated but not approved of by the population in general. I can only speak for the metropolitan area around Boise, not for other parts of Idaho.

If you want to talk about those things, a social forum is not the place. Perhaps a porn site? Sorry.

Idaho needs more open minded people. The U.S. could use more open minded people in general, or at least people who don't attempt to speak for "most of us" in this land of homophobia and presumptious closet bigots. Its like football--love the game, hate the overweight, over consuming, self righteous, non contributing fans.

LindaKat: Maybe Idaho isn't the place for you.

Frightly: you contradicted yourself by saying "Idaho needs more open minded people" then, "or at least people who don't attempt to speak for "most of us"". Who are you to say Idaho needs more open minded people, you don't know who is or who isn't.

Idaho is turning into a small Los Angles. I hear cries for "Diversity" yet no one wants to pay for the extra police and crime fighting tools we will need when diversity happens. It's not safe for lower income people to live where they need to anymore
( lower cost housing). Those who live behind gated community's cry the loudest for diversity. Again look at Los Angles, It sure didn't help them. So sadly I say Idaho is opening it's mind to all the wrong things. In a short time I'm sure it will include your disturbing list.

I'm really sorry to hear that. It's pretty much the story everywhere. Diversity for the sake of Diversity is a politically correct, feel good about yourself concept that will cause more problems than the Utopian society the pushers of it want to believe.

I believe your question & more importantly the list of very related topics points directly to your own "close mindedness". There's more to life than your apparent obsession with all things sexual.

LindaKat, typically the LDS folks in Idaho are closed minded because of their cult driven perspective on life. They may think they are a religion but in other countries - like in France - they are viewed as a sect or cult that just wants to brain wash you and take your money so they can spread the word. I still remember the thief Brent Coles, ex-major of Boise and LDS. What a joy that was...hahahah..and he tried in vain to get rid of strip clubs in Boise. Great that the clown shot himself in the foot.

Interesting point of view from someone allegedly promoting diversity. I would prefer an LDS neighbor any day over your shameless hyposcrisy.

I beat up LDS kids growing up because of their religion. I'm not very proud of it. I would drive through the LDS church parking lot on Sunday morning and yell out "Mormons Suck!". That is how close minded I was. I am now a fully devoted LDS member. Hard to believe? I was very close minded when I was younger and very stupid. I thought the LDS religion was a cult and nothing more. I am so glad that I now belong to this religion. I'm so happy and so are my wife and kids.

Open minded about LDS but not open minded when LDS followers knock on your door and try to distort history. Proclaiming that members of the LDS were the first, 600+ years prior Christof Columbus, to sail across the Atlantic and settled in South/Central Americas is a joke. The LDS history is laced with inaccuracies and yes, I did read the Book of Mormons, but I'm not brain washed and form my own opinions. That Smith clown was a brilliant marketer that enriched himself off the poor and uneducated. Still does to this day.

Is "LDS Problem" a Christian? I live in Utah and get a kick out of Christians who bash the LDS, but believe that Moses actually parted the Red Sea and that Noah really built an ark and "gathered two of every animal", or that God created the earth and all life in 7 days. The LDS faith certainly doesn't have a monopoly on gullibility or ignorance. Name any religion and I can give you countless examples of stupidity.

No Christian here. Parting the sea or make blind people see again is the same nonsense that the LDS faith is spreading. Same goes for the muslim faith or the TVevangelist in this country. Religion is just simply a crutch for the weak, uneducated, and people that cannot comprehend the disguise of religion today. Nothing more than a money making operation to spread the word and to spread wars. If it wouldn't be for religion the middle east would be at peace for a long time and 911 would have never happened. Who's getting our next president elected? We the people? No. Religion is electing our next president. All the East coast Jewish wealth is pouring in millions just to make sure that the status quo of Israel is not undermined....

"LDS Problem" Good to see that you feel the same way about Christians, Jews, Muslims and Mormons. I was merely pointing out that it is very hypocritical to pick on the LDS faith and ignore all the other world faiths. You should read "God is not Great" by Christopher Hitchens (if you haven't already). Maybe you should change your online name to "Religion Problem". It would be more accurate.

"Mormons not the Problem" - I prefer reading and studying scientific based text like the Special Theory of Relativity and such but that is something religious folks - no matter what affiliation - do not understand because it doesn't fit their model of understanding. Let alone the math behind it. You get my drift.

Daily Horoscope for December 19

Aquarius

Money is a source of friction between you and friends now, so treat it with caution and respect. There could be a disagreement between you and a chum about a possession or a debt that one of you owes the other. If you're trying to organize a forthcoming social event, you could come unstuck when working out how much it's all going to cost because it might be far too expensive.
