WRONG !!!! I and my husband are well over 65 and still have increases like anyone else. There is also a cap on the income (social security) for any reduction on taxes. Big joke ! They know what they're doing. Working all your life and trying to get a good social security check is for the birds. I know for a fact that those that didn't try hard are making it much better than ones who tried. FREE EVERYTHING!....while some have to pay out their whole (meager)checks for medical and food. Something's surely wrong with EVERYTHING in our country.
GOLDEN YEARS.....SURE!
After 65 can you qualify for free taxes or is there a limit on what ss you can draw and get free taxes?
yes

There is a tax relief program. You apply at trustee office. It is based on income.

My husband and I live on an income of $750 a month from SSI disability. I do know that our taxes are approximately 290 a year. With the tax break we only pay $88 yearly. Every little bit helps. It all depends on your income and also your bank account. You just need to go pay them a visit and get the form. Hope this helps.

If you have six different people living in one apartment then the tax rate isn't fair I.E. here for work or school. Also there are lots of apartments that are government subsidized for the tennant therefore tax dollars are going to pay tax dollars.
How many of the apartments doyou think are getting subsidized assistance? I've heard lots of people come into our country knowing how to work the system, they rent a house or apartment get subsidized rent and several live together sharing the bills and knowing how to get lots of free stuff, and probably laughin all the way to the bank, they live like some of the older generation had to live, only buying what they need and saving as much as they can. I DO NOT like thinking like this and I hope its not true, especially the part about laughin all the way to the bank. But if were silly enough to allow it to happen, why shouldn't they?

I have heard that a criminal investigation has begun. Just not sure if this is true. I sure hope it is. At the least, she needs to be charged with official misconduct. If they can prove she took bribes, it will be alot worse. Shame on you, Rhonda!!

I get tired of hearing rich people talk about how if you work hard you can become one of them. You know how they work hard? They work hard at not paying their taxes and paying off people like Rhonda Chaffin. If I became a crook like the Soards and Chaffin I guess I would be alot richer. Sick of all politics. Time to clen house.
I have never understood why people hate anyone who is wealthier than they are, that is until they too become wealthy. If you hate rich people than the only way it is a consistant and reasonable thought is if you have no desire to become wealthy yourself. Having been around a while, it seems most everybody I have met would like to have more money, so who are these haters who would give all their money to charity to avoid becoming what they hate? Help me out here.

Good lawd. More taxes is not the answer. We pay more than enough as it is......especially if you own a business. You do all the work and they take. Our county needs to make some cutbacks instead of a stupid wheel tax. Tax tax tax. It's my money I worked hard for.....get your hands out of my pocket.

Corruption alive and well here in Mayberry land. Anyone see the reserved signs at the courthouse for people paying their property taxes? The least we can do for those property owners who owe millions and millions of dollars to the county.
Why don't we all go to court and officially change our last name.
Small price to pay to receive a 90% deduction of our real estate taxes.
Another idea, we can ask the county executive, Kim Blaylock, if she would sign a check for $100,000 like she did for the UCDD director, Wendy Askins.

What a country we live in. You don't have to pay real estate taxes if you are one of the chosen.
Check out
www.cookevillegives.com
every public record I can find will be placed on that web site so the public has access to county records documenting misuse of monies entrusted to the county.
If you endorse a 90% discount of my real estate taxes, I'll make you my friend!
Wonder how many of the property owners will help fniance a 90% discount for me.
