For more than 40 years in private mfg.,state gov't, &serving on several board of directors for various organizations, I found 2 things to be true.PEOPLE ARE GREEDY, & you can detect when someone is telling the truth. I have personaly known Mr. Carwile and several of the UCDD board menbers for many years. The channel 5 news interveiw, shows that is clear that Earl is telling it like it is.When you try to do the right thing, you do step on many toes. His loyality was to the people of the upper cumberland. As you can see in the photo of Randy Williams(Wendy's arm around him) you can tell where his loyality lays. Many of the board members were trying to do what they could for their respective counties, but 2 or 3 GOT GREEDY.I am sure that in this stage of the investigation, they would like to do the right thing, but UCDD's "Monica Lewinksy" has too much incrimiating evidence on them. If this was made public, they would be chastise from thier county & possible straight to jail

Thank you for your insight. Carwille does appear honest, and a decent person. I think there are more then just 2 or 3 greedy people on that board. And if a person deserves jail time so be it. That is the purpose of being punished. You do wrong... well then you reap what you sow. It is an injustice to the entire upper cumberland to let theives walk away with out being punished. It lowers moral, and lowers our standards. If these people were poor and they stole food, well I could take pity. But they had good jobs, lots of money and stole. Some of what they were stealing was suppose to go to the poor. This reminds me of many Latin American Countries where there are two seperate groups, filthy rich, and dirt poor. I don't think I care if people start doing the right thing now that everyone is watching. They should have done the right thing when no one was watching. That is what makes a person trustworthy, and entitled to hold public office. If the general public can not trust you leave your office, you have no business being a public servant.

We know now that Larry and Wendy created businesses to recieve money from the UCDD- wonder how many other board members did the same?

I agree that Earl seems to be honest. I was disappointed to read in the HC that he had given himself a raise- turns out he only went from part-time to full-time employment thus the increase in wages. That was an outright lie that he gave himself a raise, yet the HC published it. Too bad they didn't ask Earl to comment on that statement before publishing it.

Maybe if you folks had a life you'd let this over hyped story die? This crap happens in every city in America. Move on.

Well I don't care about other cities, I care about the city I live in. I will not turn my back on corruption. I don't want this to become a cesspool for my children to live in. I may not make it any better, but I sure won't make it worse.

Some people simply can't handle power and/or money with letting it corrupt them. Or perhaps they were already corrupt. This board appears to be loaded with corruption. It is sad that they appear to be more concerned with who 'leaked' the story to the tv instead of being concerned with making things right. Sad to say...greed rules now days.

You are full of sh$t! It may happen in every town in America, but guess what, smartass, I don't live in every town in America. I want to know who is screwing all of the taxpayers out of their money, so they can live a lavish life, and want to know who is trying to represent my county in these government programs, that way I can decide to vote for them, if they decided to run for that office. If you don't like was is being said on this thread. You need to move on and leave the voters to pick the best and honest person for the job.

Its sad that a honest man, like Mr. Carwile, had to be put through the ringer because he did not agree with the board or kiss their ass to get along with them. As far as him giving himself a raise, well, he went from part time to full time and deserve it. Anybody that had to go through what he did with that stupid, ass-backwards group of executives, deserves more pay than what he was getting. I don't blame him for resigning. Notice Kim Blayblock didn't seem too upset over his resigning. Earl Carwile walk away with a clean conscience, some of those board members don't even know what that will be like when they are not reelected to their counties, and sit on the board of UCDD or UCHRA.

Livingston voted their black mayor back in office recently and he is on the board and the agency treasurer.
He did raise the property taxes right after he was elected recently and when asked why by the Enterprise, he stated he wasnt very good at keeping up with expenses and some big raises were needed and he needed to pave 3 streets.
Can you believe this?
It actually happened.

Glad I don't live in the city, Livingston city voters did NOT get off their ass and go vote, so they NEED to live with it..."be careful of what you ask for, you may get".......
