I went and got a haircut last week on a whim at JCP because I went there a number of times before and it was fine. The stylist was one I'd never seen before. She was a nice girl but the cut she gave me was horrible. After I realized how much she messed up, I almost started bawling and she went to get someone else to fix it. I left looking "better" but my hair is still messed up and I have to go somewhere else this week to get it worked on. It just plain looks bad, friends have commented on it and I have to wear it in a ponytail.
I had fairly long hair, but I imagine it's now going to have to be cut several inches shorter to look better. I had a simple cut with long layers and layers around my face. I just wanted a trim and some more layering around my face. Instead of trimming layers, she cut all of the hair around my face very short in a blunt shape while leaving the rest of my hair long, the layers all gone -- she cut too deep into my hair and didn't even blend. After having it fixed, I now look like I've been growing out deep-cut blunt bangs, and I didn't even have bangs in the first place.
This person didn't know how to cut simple long layers or how to blend at all, something any new stylist should do. I had actually requested not to be put with a new stylist, and there is no way this person wasn't a new graduate.
Apparently JCP doesn't screen the people they hire. I used to recommend people to them but I never, ever will again, even if the other stylists there are good.
