If you don't drive like you're impaired, you won't have anything to worry about. What's abused is people under the influence of alcohol or medications or both that is being abused. They do not have the right to drive and put other's in jeopardy period. I know of one person who is on oxycontin and takes so much he has wrecked about every single vehicle he has ever owned. This is such a huge problem with meth heads and pill poppies that something has to be done. If you want to get angry about this situation, get angry at THEM!

They're usually pulled over for suspected DUI and then taken to the hospital when it's determined that something is medically wrong with them. If you have a medical condition that prevents you from driving safely then you can't drive. I couldn't drive for 10 years because of uncontrolled epilepsy. I didn't think it was unfair at all. How could it possibly be unfair when I could have went into a seizure, crashed my car, and injured or killed not only myself but other motorists at any time?

Driving like you are impaired is an opinion of the officer that arrests you! I don't trust law enforcement enough to agree with granting them that authority. Again, if they're going to have this law they should at least attach a clause where if the blood test turns up nothing the officer loses his job and is subject to a civil rights violation.

I don't think the officer should lose their job over it. However you have given an idea. If the test comes back clean then the accused should be compensated for their time and losses occurred by this. That would help keep some of the bad cops from doing this to people they don't like for whatever reason.

I hate it but it's better than somebody kicking in your apartment door out of their jurisdiction, simply looking at you and saying "you're drunk" because one of his little cop friends stocked you apartment with beer when you were underage and you were threatened with bodily harm if yuo called the police to disperse of the idiots.

Okay, what's your reason for not trusting the law? Don't you think it's a little extreme for an officer to lose his job? Civil rights are important but getting impaired drivers off the road is equally important.

Having breathalyzers for every driver is absurd. So is saying a cop can pull over anyone he suspects might be under the influence. Most of the time the person would not be under the influence and it would be a big waste of time. I don't feel like being taxed more due to police being completely inefficient. It would be like forcing cavity searches on every person boarding and leaving every plane.

As a caveat to the above, of course it's ok for a cop to pull someone over with reasonable suspicion.

Some people cause every problem they've ever complained about, just like you guys.

If it doesnt harm someone i support leaving some fact finding and tasks up to machines and not the fools that want the arrest because somebody told them to arrest a suspect that has no warrants. I also like the idea of the machines being serviced by a third party with absolutely no ties to the organization they service other than maybe a truck driver bussin' them machines in.
