are you f++king kidding me? Home instead senior care is the absolute worst. If the would put as much heart into caregivers as they put $$$$$ into nasty ass office managers salary then yes maybe i'd let them in my house

IOI is a crap company. Heaven FORBID you get an emergency call at work! I did when my mother passed away, and 2 weeks after I got back from her funeral, My brother was in a SERIOUS accident, his carport collapsed on him, and he had to be rushed to hospital with broken ribs and punctured lung (keep in mind his carport was high as his 2 story house and had about a foot of snow covering it) next day, after receiving the call at work, I got called into office, and was being put off work for an investigation that I was using phone. I explained it was an emergency call, they didnt care. Well the state investigator said it was UNFOUNDED due to the circumstances, and the fact that BOTH CLIENTS were in bed, but I STILL GOT FIRED. Then they tried to block my unemployment, but that didnt work, because the mediator took my side that an EMERGENCY PHONE CALL is not a good reason to fire someone. ROBIN WILMOTH at IOI is a complete bitch. She doesnt care about clients, just herself, and her paycheck.

I worked for home instead senior care for 3yrs. Never made over 7.25. They'll work you to death and you are basically the only way they make $ you are the mules...they don't care as long as you're getting them paid. The Putnam county office do not give pay increases they say they wouldn't be making $ but in reality they make $18 to $25 an hr for you busting your behind and you get less than $8 an hr. They sit in the office and make way more for answering phones than the ppl wiping asses and scrubbing floors etc...SAD

none of the health care agencies care any more about their patients than they do their staff.

How about this: Quit expecting management salary for entry level work.

I agree with those who thing that these workers do not get paid enough. I have done this type of work, you get hit, kicked, cussed spit on, change adult diapers, all that good stuff. Plus, in the organizations like IOI/pacesetters, you take them on outtings, give meds, and do shopping and bill pay, clean houses, And i dont understand why CNA's make more. CNA's do not do meds, do not shop for client, do not take them places, do not clean their house. That is messed up! THEY NEED BETTER PAY, AND THEY MIGHT HAVE BETTER EMPLOYEES

Actually through corporations like IOI have you take a STATE DIRECTED MED CERTIFICATION CLASS so you are certified to give medications. Shows what you know!

See, this is why I refused to settle for being a CNA. Too much complaining. I don't claim to be the smartest or most rational person but when 90% of my co-workers seem to believe that people above them both in position and education are undeserving of the money they earn then I can't help but think that they're trying to make themselves feel better about their own inadequacies.
