So sad. If Monterey isnt making enough headlines we gotta get the pervies in there to. Along with the bloody nose there should be legal actions against this 40yr old man. He stated that he just wanted to be like an uncle figure, like a friend because he didnt have a child of his own or something ? How many friends are like hey we just met and i'd like to be your friend, how bought sending me a picture of you in a bikini.

Throw the book at him.

Gotta agree with you on this one! That is scary. I wonder why it's not in the paper? The law is hard to understand, sometimes, but perhaps the Dad would actually be in trouble for assault; I hate to think that, but the actual consequences to him, legally, might be greater (the Dad). SOMETHING has to be done in cases like this. The DA can only operate within the law, and there may even be issues of entrapment, please don't get mad, I am not at all trying to minimize the event! I would like to know who it is, also, coming from Monterey. Sheesh, my uncles never asked for a photo of ME in a bathing suit! I am on the Dad's side and feel pretty good about him handling the situation at least to give the guy a bloody nose. wow

This right here is why my 12 year old daughter does not have Facebook. That man is a freaking pervert. A bloody nose would have been the LEAST of his problems if it were my daughter.

I would have cut his privates off. I would have had two or three other men with me to hold him down and I would have went "temporarily" insane.

Thing is, it wasn't even a "sting", but a Dad who was paying attention to his child !! A Father with a capital "F". I am sure she will always remember this and cherish him for watching over her. Just one more thought before sleep: this is an example of consequences for something "one does"! I am certain, if he is of normal intelligence, that he knows that it is wrong to do what he did, he also must know about the law in these regards, but he still chose to go with his "wants". That is where consequences are so important. A good perhaps busted nose, must be painful, etc., the humiliation of having her father overpower him, etc. etc....those are real consequences. I bet he has a bit better chance of controlling himself in the future!

LOL IT WAS A STING initiated by the FATHER.... IF IT WASN'T He wouldn't have called the "COPS" He'd had just beat him plup and attached a brick to his leg and tossed him into the Lake!

This man deserves the "Father of the Year" Award for real!!!!!!!

Not many fathers have the "heart" to be that forgiving.. And letting them off with just a slug to the nose, Myself I'd kill the bastard. I wouldn't even call the cops.

Absolutely Loved it!!

My only wish in this story is that he had called the the police to let them in on this first, so they could get another perv off the street!
The father might not have been able to get a good fist into this person..but I sure would have tried anyway.

Then we would know his name, someone knows what it is.

Dad should have beat the b**t*rd to an inch of his life. The "wanting to be an uncle" is a liar and only wanted to talk or force the child into sex. Come on. His intentions were not good for this little girl regardless of what bullsh*t he gives for an excuse. This child could have ended up raped or dead. Charges need to be placed on this scum bag and he needs to be tried and put on the child sexual predator registry. If not this child, maybe he will succeed with the next. Stop him.

this was even on Knoxville news, someone has to know something, heck in Monterey they know who is doing who and who is the biggest whore and who sells the most meth and snorts the longest line of cocaine not to mention the politics and the cops who makes the top u.s. of wrong "stupid" dumb things and still is getting paid. What the heck? Oh and how could I forget the back stabbing that all the jealous people us this for??? Pretty simple to find out who this is to protect or watch our kids closer. YOU GO DAD!!!!! WISH THERE WAS MORE LIKE YOU THERE IN MONTEREY, IF SO, MAYBE LESS WOULD BE ON HERE.-I use to live there, I don't tell anyone that's where I'm from cause the first thing pops up is the discussions abt how nobody works and is on here backstabbing instead of going to the person and hiding behind the computer to slander!!!!!!

good. serves the pervert right. where's the usual topix idiots who would have posted by now about how the little 12-year old was leading him on and all that? The ones that usually stick up the pedophiles and statutory rapists around here? They're disappointing me. They're usually all over this sort of thing when it's a pregnant 13 or 15-year old and an 18 or 19 year-old like they think it's still 1890 around here, but suddenly they develope a conscience when it's a 12-year old getting asked for a picture in a bikini by a 42-year old? The lack of conviction on their part is appalling. Also, I want the Herald-Citizen to follow up on this article. This jackass is a danger to the community. That police report should have included his name and address (and why he wasn't arrested is a mystery to me. I'm glad he got a bloody nose, but he's a sexual predator as well. He used social media to solicite a child for pictures of a sexual nature. They need to do a little more about this pervert then a brief interview and a bit of contrition on his part.)
