And,if he still if smoking it he'll eventually test positive & be fired.They don't send you to treatment,they fire you on first offense.

Obsene behavior by the police.

With the waving of guns in this poor man's face and the dog ready to attack how could this man do anything but try to protect himself.
IMHO, the police behavior was more criminal than anything the man was being arrested for. Shame on the police. Shame on the people of this community.

Did you know that this gentleman fled where they were trying to serve him a warrant (for domestic violence) and the led police on a high speed pursuit? I am sorry but this is not a regular citizen or a compliant citizen. You may want to check other news stations that reported more of the story such as www.ucdailynews.com . I'd like to know why channel 5 doesnt report on the negative effects the smoking ban is having and the high cost of tobacco taxes. Let alone someone should be reporting about the skewed
scientific studies on second hand smoke that were used to manipulate the legislature with in order to pass this ban.....Why werent the rights of smokers in tenn not protected by the state leaving 25-30% of the states voters with no public place to go and eat unless it went 21 and up..........it should be up to the business owners to decide if they are non-smoking or not.
Why is it that its 21 when 18 year olds can buy tobacco products but cant go inside a smoking establishment, yet they can go die for their country at 17..........why why why

Mr. Ferrell was at a complete stop waiting on the CPD to pull up the SUV you see in the video was the ex-wife who was leading the high speed chase duh!! And yes he was being compliant you plainly see him get out with his hands in the air when the dog attacked And he repeatedly asks what is going on he had no idea he had a warrant for domestic assault maybe because as he states he didn't do anything While his ex stands there and watches the whole ordeal knowing the domestic assault allegations were false

Someone earlier on this forum made a remark about people taking sides with the criminals. Perhaps if there weren't so many cops who act like criminals themselves, this would not be so. Unfortunately, both in Putnam Co. and here in Jackson Co., the growing number of crooked & corrupt law enforcement officers outnumbers the number of straight & honest cops. And has for some time now. Alot of people have seen or heard about the actions or alleged actions of these corrupt cops, which is a big reason why when something like this happens they automatically side with the criminals.

This does go on all over the country. It just doesn't make the national news unless there is a lawsuit like this. Thank goodness for the video recorders, many police depts no longer want to use them because they are getting caught in the act. It was supposed to protect them from frivolous charges during traffic stops but has backfired when many of the tapes hit the airwaves with obvious infractions by the police. It proves that they need to be watched. With unchecked power comes corruption. Unfortunately good police are at a premium these days and many of them are leaving the force due to pressures from above they don't agree with. With more and more video tapes like this maybe the corrupt cops will just have to leave the force.

i happen to know mr mallory-ferrell. he is not a thug, he has been in trouble, but good god, if you live in cookEVILle, you can hardly be considered a thug. i have personally had a run in with officer melton, and officer ward who was with him when carlos was arrested. those two are peas in a pod. officer ward came into my home on a noise complaint, yes we were having a party, i tried to apologize to him at the door. cops are supposed to be like vampires right? dont invite them in. no he pushed me and my husband, told me he was a prick and he would show me by taking me to jail. he backed off when i told him my rights, but he was rude, yelling and screaming and cursing at me. not to mention pushing me. i hope they both go to hell and rot. this police station needs a good house cleaning, but who can clean house when the folks higher on the totem pole are more evil than the police are?

Not sure if this is beating a dead horse but, i'll have a whack at it,. Mabey you guys should assemble some kind of video crew where , if you see something going on pop out your video cam and start rolling the tape,. Bring out the evil into the light and expose the corruptness.
