New Details About Man Suing Cookeville Police Over Alleged Abuse

Me and 3 other friends witnessed for our selfs 4 cops beat the crap out of a guy when he didn't even resist arrest it was ashame how they beat him.So my question is why is this still going on and how safe is it to live in Cookeville when the people that is suppose to protect you are the bad guys

First it was the issue with the officer killing the dog belonging to the family from NC. Then, the man that was ran over by the police car after fleeing on foot from hids own car. Now this. Some people doesn't handle authority very well and this appears to be the case in msny of the incidences that happen in this county. They are given a slap on the back of the hand ,scolded a bit then put back to work.

Crooked cops. What else is new? They think that because they're cops, whatever they do is OK.
Then they wonder why no-one respects them. Let's face it, if the guy was that STUPID to look at the camera before he PLANTED the evidence, he deserves to get fired and have his head cracked. Cop or not, and I hope someone does it.

Maybe all you people complaining so much need to take advantage of the GED classes offered in the jail the next time you are there. They will be able to help you with you writing skills. My grandfather once told me it is better to be thought stupid than to open your mouth (or in your case write a comment) and remove all doubt.

i can sum all this up for you. A lazy, no good, lying, fat dopehead that has been a menace to society for years trying to get a paycheck without having to do any work for it. Shame on you mr mallory-ferrell, you will pay when you meet your maker. As for your attorney Mr Durham, I think it is funny you did not mention the admission of the marijuana belonging to him until you were confronted about it. Sounds like to me you either are lazy and did not do your homework or you are corrupt yourself and trying to ruin an officers career without making all the facts known.

The same one here that want to criticize the police, are the same ones that call the police when some crime happens to them and wants justice. Who in the world would want to be a policeman? No matter what you do you are wrong. Sure I will admit there are bad cops and some that have bad attitudes. The fact is if you commit a crime and run from the police and not listen to the orders the police are giving you, then you deserve whatever happens. The police put there lives on the line everyday protecting you ungratefuls. Seems a lot of people want to sympathize with the criminals until that criminal commits a crime against you.
Showme someone in jail that doesnt say the drugs werent theirs or they didnt do it.

Sweetheart, maybe you should go back and check your own comment for faulty grammar and mistakes before pointing a finger at other people. You know what they say,"for every finger you point there is four more pointing back at you." Maybe you need a refresher course.

The Cookeville Police Department has been corrupt for many years. I do believe this cop should be fired because it is obvious by the tape that he planted drugs on this young man. I don't care if he had a history of other arrests. He should never have been treated in such a cruel way especially with the dog going after the guy in addition to the drug planting if they didn't report it to their supervisor or try to stop the cop for treating this guy so badly. I think the other cops who witnessed this injustice should also be fired or reprimanded. Cookeville cops are well known for covering up for one another.

Sounds like Cookeville needs a citizens review board, to oversee the Police Department.
Apparently the Council and the Chief of Police are inept.

Once again both sides are innocent untill proven guilty. And as you say it is am injustice fron stupid people like you to judge someone before an investigation has been done. So how are you any better??

This place runs on small town politics, but with the big bad internet the Rich and the Powerful are not getting their sad pathetic way. and apparently you don't know this person, apparently you like to call people names and make fun of people who you think are less than you. People like you need to go away. As we know there are 3 sides to a story his(Mr. Ferrell),(scorned ex-wife) hers and the C of Ckvl PD. I saw former Mrs. Ferrell @ a restaraunt 45 min prior to the arrest drinking up a $40.00 tab I got a phone call from her the next mornin w/ her tellin all of her side of the story and it goes lil somthin like this She went to his house as she had been doin for the last 4-5 days sat outside and waited for him to come out as soon as she saw him she of course called the police she said since he wouldn't talk to her he could talk to them She then follows him thru town the police stated at the time they caught up with her they clocked her doin in excess 90 mph although she never recv'd a citation, did they perform a breathalizer test? NOPE! Did they search and find marijuana, no because of course this poor little innocent drunken white girl charged her ex-husband with domestic assault Claiming he touched her foot with his front door as he closed it because she was trying to barge in after being asked to leave 5-6 times Did she get charged with criminal trespassing, no, then after searching thru his car and stealing 3 laundry bags of clothes and 2 pr of shoes pouring bleach on them and putting them @ his front door ( as she loved to brag about to the whole office)Did she get charged for theft or destruction of personal property Well of course not Did I fail to mention she used to work with and are still close friends with several people in law enforcement incl., DA ,etc., Did anyone know that Mr. Ferrell changed his last name from his mother's married name to her maiden name for personal reasons Besides if that is all anyone is holding against him PLEASE!! Why doesn't someone askher who worked nights and went to school, took care of their daughter, not to mention did anything she asked, treated her with utmost respect and ultimately tried to keep his family together as any real man would My point is this those of you who can sit back and judge a person based on a 4 minute video and assume this BOGUS ORDEAL is for real should maybe take a second look at all the facts I have determined there is a potential conspiracy that involved the so called ESTRANGED WIFE

It might have been more effective if you had written your tirade with fewer words.

For example:

'You' is a pronoun and should never be used in place of 'your'. Your second sentence should have read: "They will be able to help you with [i]your[/i] writing skills."

never a violetn arrest. what do you call aggravated burglary? it is good to know if you are a victim of aggravated burglary you would not think it is a violent crime? lucky he did not get shot when he broke into the house.
