from what I hear, the other boy (the one who was driving.....Nate was a passenger) is still currently in surgery at Vanderbilt. Not sure of his status. A Cadillac Escalade hit them head on, on rain slicked roads.

And to Country Girl.... the wreck was not caused by Dusty at all. The Escalade slid on the wet road and ended up in the wrong lane, on the big curve on Quinland Lake Road. (the curve that also leads to the horse riding stables on the adjoining road) When the escalade tried to correct and get back into their lane, it was too late and the truck nate and dusty were in collided with the escalade. As I hear, both vehicles were totaled. I am sure Dusty is extremely hurt from losing Nate, but the wreck was not his fault.

sorry if my info is wrong, but I was told they were in a work truck, and were traveling to get some sheetrock for a job. Maybe the info I recieved was wrong, but that it what I was told by other family members that were still at Vanderbilt this morning. If you don't mind me asking, how do you know Nate and James? Just curious. And please keep us updated when you know something else. We are all keeping James in our prayers as well.

Crossville man dies after Putnam wreck by Mary Jo Denton Herald Citizen PUTNAM COUNTY -- A Crossville man injured in a traffic accident here on Monday died in a Nashville hospital last night, according to the Putnam County Sheriff's Department.
Martin Nathaniel Golden, 28, of Cherry Branch Loop, Crossville, and formerly of Putnam County, died in Vanderbilt Hospital last night, apparently from injuries sustained in a traffic crash on Quinland Lake Road yesterday morning, said Deputy Scott Stockton.
Another man injured in the crash, James D. Keagle, 23, of Christian Community Road, Cookeville, is also being treated in Vanderbilt Hospital, the deputy said.
The two were hurt just after 10 a.m. Monday when the car they were in hit a pickup truck head-on, Deputy Stockton said.
Keagle was driving a 1992 Toyota car east on Quinland Lake Road and Golden was a passenger in the vehicle. Both were using seatbelts.
In a curve on rainslick pavement at the Quinland Lake Road and R.D. Anderson Road intersection, Keagle's car veered over the highway's center line and struck a 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche pickup truck which was traveling west, the deputy said.
The driver of the truck, Donald Short, 50, of Cookeville, was not injured.
Golden and Keagle were transported to Cookeville Regional Medical Center by ambulance and were then transferred to Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville. The deputy said both were conscious and were communicating with doctors and others while at the hospital here.
Deputy Stockton said this morning that the investigation into the accident is not yet complete.
