Still..... just where did you get your information. The people of Sabine Parish have a very wide mixed population of cultures and yes many of them are mixed with Indian blood through the generations. As for your use of the slang "Chonchas", there is Spanish blood from Spain, not all Mexican, do your homework. And why would you refer to them as bastards? Unfortunately, the White census takers way back when categorized many ethic groups as "MEXICAN" when they either didn't know their true ethnic background, or just using their own assumptions for lack of information. In other parishes throughout Southwest Louisiana in the past, many different ethnic groups comprised, but not limited to, Mexican, Portuguese, Creole, or anything but "pure" white were categorized as "Negro". So, you were at the mercy of the census taker. Oh, and before going off on someone else's heritage, supposed or otherwise, check your own. You will be VERY surprised at what you learn. Louisiana's is a diverse cultural melting pot, and always has been!
