I feel bad for people with families that have to put pencils on layaway. The secret is not to spend more than you earn. Put 10% or 15% of your pay away each week, just like it was a bill that had to be paid. Build a nice cushion for when times get tough.

Some people don't make enough to put 10% of their pay away. I have single parents that work for me and they are one paycheck away from not buying food so it is great that Wondering can put away 10% but for some that in impossible. I can appreciate a parent laying away school supplies and paying what they can.
