I hope our leaders understand that the utilities are not the only ones wanting to increase rates. Ohio valley is petioning almost 10 per cent rate. We (Comcast)were forced to go to digital a year ago now that basic digital has gone up 20.00 per month. Grocery/gas out of sight. When one company goes up 10.00 per month so do several others. Still ticked that I had to give up my free/water sewer as I am over 65 years old and never had any well/sewer problems. Wonder if you can still get tv with an antenna?

They are bleeding us dry! 2 yrs ago I had new windows installed in my home...cant tell a difference on my gas bill because the dang rates keep going up. I am tired of paying more and more and more. I dont have anything else to give. URBAN should be impeached.

Yes you can get digital signal with a digital antenna. They sell them at radio shack. We have one and get channels from indy dayton cincinnati and muncie. We didn't buy the rotator or the amplifier though. So now we have no cable or satellite bill :) we spent about $200 on it used the cable that was already in our house and attached it to the old tower on roof. Its already paid for itself in what we.have saved on cable bill plus we never loose svc during storms

Time to take a stand, call your councilman or woman. Hound them until they understand, no more increases.

Ain't crony capitalism great! I say more more more until every American quits listening to their favorite talking heads and thinks for themselves. Vote straight Republican this year all the way. City, county, state and national. Give us American Fascism so we can learn what our one party system is truly about! Go Romney 2012! Go American Fascism 2012! We need a good taste of their bad medicine! Oh, Obama isn't much better, but his brand is watered down. Give us unadulterated monopoly capitalism that's so in bed with government the two are indistinguishable. It been done before... maybe it will work better for us than the poor Russians. We called it communism. In reality it was exactly what the GOP are pushing for. The Soviet Union never was socialist or communist. They were a monopoly capitalist system. The idea was to bring about the revolution that was sooooo sure to happen after capitalism took its last breath. It worked out so well didn't it. The workers had no rights, no protections, and everyone had to work. No stinkin' welfare in the USSR! No seriously, America needs to wake up. We ARE heading toward state monopoly capitalism at an alarming rate. All these things are looking more and more like the USSR and FOX News is busy calling other things "socialism": wealth distribution, plutocracy, removal of unions, one party system, loss of reproductive rights, loss of rights to protest, restricted movement from place to place (look at the rapidly growing number security checks one passes through)... We rhyme VERY well with the USSR. On the other hand, we rhyme with pre-Nazi Germany: stagnated legislature, economic woes, talk of marginalizing a religion the majority fears, talk of marginalizing homosexuals, forced labor in prison... No one cannot call our near future fascism or "communism" but it is looking more and more like a morph of the two. Drink up and take a good sample of how it tastes. There is more, much more, to come.

You are correct in your statement about where this country is going nationally but voting republican in Fayette County or voting democrat means nothing. 90% of the residents here have no idea about party lines and party ideals. If that isn't enough, the only difference in Connersville between these two parties is what building they use a headquarters. Basically, they both practice republican and just call themselves democrats so they can run against someone. Politics in Connersville is an absolute joke and until the so called "educated" people of this town realize that, things will never change!

Since when has the government ever been obligated to care for your family members? The American people have got to stop thinking the government shoulders the responsibility for the financial and physical care of our elders! They are YOUR family! YOU take care of them!!

Agree totally. If we got rid of all the handouts to those that will not shoulder what belongs to them, the local and national government would get back on track. What is now the largest growing segment? Disability.....the laid offs that refuse to look for work are now on the public teat...instead of unemployment it is now SSD.

Basically, they both practice republican and just call themselves democrats so they can run against someone. Politics in Connersville is an absolute joke and until the so called "educated" people of this town realize that, things will never change! I agree. The first part was tongue in cheek. I agree we have a one party system by default. If you are really honest with yourself, I think you would agree that Obama and Bush are pretty darn close to the same in all the real issues facing the country right now. Abortion, LGBT issues... those are just things to brand themselves a different. Also notice that they were dragged out every election for decades and we just now see any changes... which will be reversed and make the issue "relevant" and "fresh" once more. So not only do I agree on the local level but also all the way to the most important political job in the world, President of the United States. Please don't every start talking about Ron Paul or the Green Party. Our party based primary system locks them out. The ONLY way to change this lockdown they (Republicans and Democrats) have is to have a single ticket primary with no party affiliations. The top two move on to the general election. Will some areas end up with two Republicans/Democrats running? Yes... but we will also have more Green, Libertarian, Tea Party (imagine having your won party not beholden to the GOP!), Democratic socialist... also the abuse of filibusters and other tactics to halt legislative processes would go down considerably. Congress might actually function as it was intended! For this, we need a national reform of how primaries are ran. The One Party to Rule Them All will never back this. The people need to make a grassroots movement and stand up to them. Trust me, we out number the politicians by orders of magnitude. It is possible. It just takes people from all ideologies to stand together. Right, left, libertarian, socialist, independent, green... we all can agree on this one issue. It is a universal need!
