If you like rural atmosphere, I think you'll be pleased. Honestly, I haven't been there since the skating days (1975 ish?).
Paris is starting to get too big for me now, maybe I'll look around Connersville and see what's up :)

If Reid doesn't scare you and it shouldn't, you might try looking at houses in the older parts of town. Great big older homes that need some work and lots of TLC. You might get a good deal on one. Even if it costs as much to buy and repair as buy a newer home, you still probably won't spend as much as rent. I live near Reid and I LOVE IT. It's so laid back we have had grass growing in the street.

If I didn't have a teen & a pre-teen, I would have bought the absolutely gorgeous diamond-in-the-rough at 7th and Western. I hope someone buys that home and takes care of it. The entry hall and staircase with stained glass is absolutely lovely...
While I trust myself and my husband to make decisions that protect us, it's too easy for a child to get into a bad situation.

I wouldn't live on Reid Street, Central isn't a bad area, but if I had children I would be a little concerned about the traffic.
