1 The first thing that you must understand is that not all people are of the belief that being homosexual or homosexuality is sinful. While you may have chosen to believe that, not everyone else does, nor are they required to. The reason for "gay pride" isn't about sex or even about lusts for that matter, it's about taking pride in that part of your nature rather than being ashamed of it. You see, we have grown up in a society that went out of its way to persecute us for who we are. We have had the laws of the land written against us, hatred and violence directed toward us, even the wrath of God invoked against us, but nonetheless we have not only survived but thrived. We have come together as an extemely diverse community united in not only our self-preservation but in ensuring that we are seen and treated as equal members of our own society. While you may not see the need for "gay pride", we do as we live it each and every day. |

1 Just because you believe in God and that's all that you base your values and beliefs on has nothing to do with an emotional response a man has with another man and likewise with females. The problem with "church people" is that they are the most judgemental of all religions. You are the only people that even waste time out of your day to consider why people shouldn't be happy in life. I think God would want 2 people to be happy. I don't think God (the most wonderful person ever right?) would hate a human being for being gay. Maybe its that "church people" such as yourself are only looking at your viewpoint, and rarely at others. Consider this, the economy is bad right now, crime is bad, people struggle to make ends meet. What takes priorety in your mind? Would you prefer two people to be happy and committed to eachother and not being a "false" person? Or would you rather that every gay person hide in their house, go on the internet to "date" never be seen in public, not show up to work, all of the things that gay people do on a daily basis? My point is that you are no better than someone else. At the end of the day, the person that will benefit emotionally, in a healthy way will probably benefit the community. I don't know about you, but I like people just the way that they are, and I try not to judge. I understand what you're saying about God etc. Just imagine If you were born with a huge birthmark that took up your entire back. You can't help that because you were born with it (if you say God doesn't create gays, you are going against millions of people that have an attraction for another sex in a way that I,as a heterosexual, and you do not have)so you go to the beach and you have to wear a white tshirt cause it's so hot out, but "nobody can know you have a birthmark". All your life you wanted to just wear a bathing suit at the beach...Around the world you discover that millions of people have this same birthmark. You couldn't help that you were born with it, but you know it's for real, and a part of you and a part of millions of other people....So you accept it and take off your tshirt and have a blast in the ocean. Which scenario sounds more stressful? Wearing the shirt out of fear and not being accepted? Or just being you and hoping that others will grow up and care about you, as a person and not a person with a birthmark? |

1 Because everything in this country has become about "not offending the blacks or illegals". Anyone who believes that blacks are at a disadvantage nowadays are kidding themselves. I sure wish somebody would make a WET in response to BET (black enternaintment tv.) It's like you've got to tiptoe around what you say and do. It's getting annoying. |

Yeah, and lets not forget everyone likes Whiteclouds over Blackclouds. Now that's racist. |

1 There is a WET, it's called ABC, CBS, and NBC. On any given night tune into any one and count how many black people you see. Then turn to BET and do the same. I'll bet you it's pretty even on average, but you probably are ignorant enough to not know that. Oh and don't tip toe around what you say about blacks. Say exactly what you feel because most blacks appreciate honesty. It's folks like you that hide behind a keyboard we need to know about. |

1 I lived in Charlotte for 4-5 years and this is the exact reason I left Charlotte. On the surface, Charlotte is a huge, beautiful city. Under the surface, the racism, blatant homophobia, and nastiness from people made me want to leave. Yes, I now live in Tampa and this city is far from perfect, but at least Mayor Pam Iorio is welcoming and open minded here. |

Considering you are from Gastonia, which has a higher crime percentage, then the city of Charlotte. It is quite telling. It is also quite telling that Gaston County did not fair well this past school year and had a record number of kids drop out, but I suppose you were one of those drop outs, have a bunch of kids and depending on my tax money for your food stamps and welfare. |
