Police probe video of city bus arrest

So why were the police there to begin with? Why were they trying to get her out of her seat?

If the cops keep arresting these dangerous provocative individuals who come into the city for the purpose of inciting chaos and violence, how can our city's politicians "celebrate diversity" with them?

once again the police get scrutinized for mistreating a unlawful, disrespectful individual.....people like this are the ones that get manhandled and even tazed!! heres a thought....maybe some two bit outfit staged the event for publicity and profit....

it amy have been overboard, but there are 2 sides to the story. she flipped the police off and her family is acting like she is an angel. ive been there before and it wasnt until i checked myself that the problems stopped. her sister said she was treateds like a thug. she is a thug. thugs have warrants. thugs flip the police off for know reason. thugs come from families that defend their character when they were clearly out of line. oh yeah, male thugs beat that a$$ when you flip them off. everybody wants to play the tough role and then scream foul when it bites them in the butt. this is the type woman that will start stuff in the house and then cal the same police when she gets her butt whipped. if you cant take it dont dish it.

oh yeah, im from the house. i had to move to georgia to get a job as a result of the same kind of stupid behavior. the only difference is my mother let me know how dumb i was. she didnt defend my actions. that opened my eyes and made me a better person. i live good now finacially and personally. until a change is made, there will always be an opening for crooked cops to get out of line. try doing right and see how many times you slammed on the hard concrete

The video clearly shows that overweight beast resisting a lawful arrest. She no innocent lesbian. Quit trying to pull the “gay card” out. She keeps yelling that she can’t breath, well when your that overweight and yelling that loud, who can? She should get with the program and keep her mouth shut. Congrats to you for getting things in your life together for the better..I agree with you. My mom never defended me when I did wrong she kicked my ass and disciplined me like she was suppose to do. We didn't live in the best of neighborhoods but being around ignorant people just made me want to get away and do better.

The courts will have to decide if the contact at the start of the incident was lawful or not. The rest of this is based on the video I saw and article that I read.

First of all, if you have a warrant for your arrest, like this person did, maybe you shouldn't piss off the police and flip them off.

Second, at no time in this video did I hear anything about the suspect being gay so that argument has no validity. Even IF they knew, Long Beach is a very gay friendly town.

Third, for someone who says she can't breathe, she sure is yelling very loudly. Based on that I think she was breathing just fine.

I have a fourth observation but for now I will keep that to myself.

Until ALL the facts come out, and not just those listed in this article and in the abbreviated video, I will hold off on commenting on the legality of the contact. Too bad a lot of people reading this won't do the same and jump to the conclusion that they want rather than one supported by ALL the facts.
