When kids pick up adult bad habits of adults they are showing that they are ready to be judged as adults.

Oh that's terrible, did he not get to watch cartoons either. Too F*****G Bad. Take the animal off the street. Shame on you Elliott for drawing the race card on this issue. The fact that those other "people of color" were charged as adults was because there were no anglo juveniles that were eligible. Way to mislead. Typical bottom feeding attorney. I wonder how she would feel if this animal had killed one of her family members.

Come On now! What is going on at that courthouse! If the man's IQ is indeed only 77, and he was only 14 at the time, then trial in Juvenile court would appear to be the only rational situation. Let the "Chalking" up another win for the "good Ole Boys" mentality cease. This is an "affected" young man's life. Circumstances really need to be reevaluated here. People, slow down here and think about this, please do not rush to a decision because the court is full, you have a family obligation, it is time for your vacation, whatever. Stop and reevaluate!

I'm glad to hear reevaluation is coming...this juvenile should be charged for what he is...a juvenile.

As for the comment about the race card...I'm sick and tired of comments suggesting that discussing racism is wrong...or should never be brought up ever...because colonization and oppression happened soooo long ago! Incarceration statistics on "people of color" questioned...why is that wrong? Oh wait...you have to give people of color permission to discuss that right?

My only question on the race issue, to be fair, is how many non-hispanic, non-indian kids were elligible to be charged as adults for crimes.

jules, yours is the rambling of the mentally ill. You, and those of your ilk, would kill us all. Hang this little creep, slowly and in public. Alas, and here comes the race card from Anny. The process of killing this creep shouldn't take more than a year.

He was protecting his sister what would you do if some bastard was beating on her? He did what he thought was right. He should be tried as a juvinile he was 14 and protecting his family. how is it any different if some guy raped or beat yours?

Try this for justice: When the low life scum and his bleeding heart attorney can bring the person he murdered back to life he gets out of prison. Change the system so that these liberal attorneys who bring up irrelevant issues while defending low life clients have to join the slime they are defending in prison if they lose the case. They could make beautiful liberal music together for life.

People are so quick to hang a man. Let him be tried, as a juvenile, as he was a juvenile when he committed the crime. All the facts will come out, even his disability. People, do you even know what an Averge Joe IQ is? An IQ of 70 is far below the average range. A person with an IQ of 70 will have problems throughout his life and will need the support of a caring community. Wait and let the trial go and the verdict delivered before you condemn the actions of this young man. This could so easily be anyman's son protecting family, caught up in such an act. This community is so harsh and judgmental.

14 years old and an iq of 77

The idea of charging him as an adult is absurd

And the people commenting here? Thank God they're just armchair attorneys

The "kill the creep" people are uneducated idiots who undoubtedly match the boy's IQ

I suggest we lock them all up and let the boy go

Yeah, "let the boy go"?. Would you like him to be your neighbor? Maybe your dog barked one night or you had your music too loud and maybe he thought he'd be protecting his sleep and jump out at you with a rifle. Yeah, let 'em go. If they are adult enough to pick up a gun and follow through with a murder they should get "adult" punishment. In my humble opinion. I'm glad the DA is sticking to the law.

Jack, "let the boy go" doesn't mean no punishment or no rehab

When a 40 yr old mother selfishly and brutally murders her own children, our feminist society can't wait to say "she needs help, she's sick, poor woman, don't put her in jail, get her some help!"

When a 14 yr old boy with a 77 iq kills a stranger, it's "try him as an adult!"..."lynch him!"..."give him the maximum!"

We live in a very, very anti-male society

News networks, prime-time news, newspapers, magazines, all full of anti-male feminist agenda

Painting the picture of men and boys being animalistic criminals who deserve the absolute worst punishment available

When it's a girl or woman, forget it, she's "ill"

This case is nothing more than a typical reflection of anti-male sentiment in society

If Escareno was a 14 yr girl, there's no way they'd consider trying her as an adult

Lintott wouldn't even consider it...neither would Mendocino's notoriously anti-male misandric feminist society

Maybe you need to go to the nut house... i bet if it were your child you would be outrage with the idea that he/she could be gone for ever... or are you those parents that dont stand behind your child when they do something that is immoral .... GIVE ME A BREAK!!!... YOU MUST NOT HAVE A CARE ABOUT WHAT HAPPENS TO THE YOUTH BECAUSE... IT SHOWS...

Here is a article.....
Boy, 14, charged as adult in shooting death of sister's boyfriend
A 14-year-old boy accused of gunning down his sister's boyfriend on a small American Indian reservation shook his head and cried Friday as he was charged as an adult with murder.Marcos C. Escareno did not enter a plea in Mendocino County Superior Court because his family asked for more time to hire a lawyer. He was held at juvenile hall in lieu of $550,000 bail and his arraignment was postponed until Feb. 21.
The teen used a rifle Tuesday to shoot Enoc Cruz, 21, in the head and back as the man sat behind the wheel of his van near Escareno's home on the Manchester-Point Arena Rancheria, said Mendocino County Sheriff's Lt. Kurt Smallcomb.
Cruz dated Escareno's 22-year-old sister, but investigators would did not discuss a possible motive in the killing.
The suspect, who arrived in court wearing an orange jail shirt with his hands shackled at his waist, is a member of the Manchester Band of Pomo Indians, a tribe spokesman said.
Escareno was arrested at his mother's house on the rancheria, a small reservation where 250 members of the Pomo tribe live near the coast about 140 miles north of San Francisco.
The boy could be sentenced to up to life in prison if convicted of first-degree murder as an adult. His mother, aunt and two of his sisters wept in court during the short hearing.
Escareno's mother, Mary Logan, said she didn't know what happened and that her son did not have other problems with the law.
"No, no, never," she said as she sobbed outside the courtroom.
However, Smallcomb said deputies were familiar with the boy. He had been due in juvenile court next week, but authorities declined to say what charges he faced in that case.
