I am not really quite sure why they have to raise the tolls on the Delaware River Bridge. I would first want to know what is the difference to the total number of dollars that they bring in as opposed to their operating coat. Then, I think when should see to put a limit on the amount of money that they are allowed to put out there for economic development. More importantly, I think that this agancy needs to be regulated, not self regulated. I believe that someone should be held accountable for what takes place there and not just some politcal hack the just takes raises. I really think that we should appoint some type of Inspector General to over see any wrong doing that is taking place there...

DRPA has 16 board members that get paid a lot of money. The toll commission has more. Administration cost should be cut. Toll raises will most likely go for more money to these people appointed by governors of Pa and NJ

Didn't DRPA donate millions of dollars over the past couple years to many projects. I think they should look at their spending outside of maintaining the bridges and cut back there before they ask us commuters to pay more for a system that has lots of friends of governors in high places making lots of money doing hardly anything. Show us your budget in detail and let us see where all the money you have collected over the years has gone.

Given the fact that the DRPA has been throwing money into non-transportation projects, they should not be allowed to get any more money from motorists until they agree to focus on transportation only.

They spent their money on some Jewish Museum. Crazy. Another example you don't want the government running anything!
And millions want Barack Obama and the government to run healthcare?! They should have their heads examined.

Relating to the recent announcement of toll increases to area bridges. The Board of the DRPA has no one to answer to regarding their wastefull business practices. What they don't tell you is The toll increases will finance thier latest new venture; a soccer stadium in Chester. This abstract financial venture has nothing to do with the transportation needs of our residents and should not be purchased by the travelling public.

Hey NJ shore communities, you better get some kind of discussion going with DRPA on this matter. Gas prices have affected tourism as it is, no matter what the media says differently. This increase will just keep more folks away. You might not see it this year because there are people who have already put deposits down for vacation rentals and are going to go rather than lose the deposit, but wait 'til next year and you will definately notice the sharp decline.

Someone needs to take a good look at DRPA's financials...where the hell is all toll the money going now? It's not going into the bridges! Proof: When driving on I-95, simply look up as you drive under the Ben Franklin Bridge. The under carraige is a pathetic rusting disgrace.

Remembering the bridge collapse in Minnesota might make the toll increase easier to swallow. Smaller increments would be better, though. Maybe $0.25 a year for the next 4 years instead of a $1.00 this year and another in $1.00 increase in 2 years. Increasing 33% all at once is pretty steep.
I know, I know, the toll takers probably don't want to have to deal with coins, but coins are still legal tender and they shouldn't be set aside because of the trouble involved.
Money shouldn't be rounded up to the nearest dollar just for convenience sake.
