It's funny, we have had to incidences in the last 12 years of some right winged guy commiting murder, yet we have had at least 14 known mass murders by leftist in the last 12 years, yea those rightys sure are dangerous.

Most Dems do NOT want to get rid of guns. Most righties don't either. How do we defend ourselves against the insane if they're the only ones armed?

Thank you! Of course I understand. People want to blame the guns instead of the people. There will always be nut cases. They will always find a way to carry out their evil deeds. If not guns then bombs, arson, knives or how about flying planes into sky scrapers?

Taking away our ability to defend ourselves does nothing to solve the problem but does create more victims.

Exactly. A nut job can kill people just as simple with an easily constructed dirty bomb as he can with a couple of modified guns. Hell, he could have done all that and more much more effectively,he could have killed more and spent a lot less, and all with easily obtained items, most of which you can pick up at your friendly local Home Depot.

I didn't say Dems want to get rid of "all" guns. I often forget how righties have this uncontrollable knack for cherry picking through context before responding.

That is really annoying by the way.

What I mean to say is tha Dems are by far the majority among political constituency who are willing to sit down and discuss rational gun control measures with these latest examples of crazies in mind.

There isn't anyone here who can produce a statement made by any left wing politician in Washington proposing to take your 9mm pillow pal away from you.

The only discussion that has been raised concerns assult rifles and multi-ammo clips. The NRA has the GOP by the gnads and for the life of me I can't figure out why. The NRA only dobated a Million bucks to Willard's campaign. Bill Maher and Morgan Freeman both matched that amount to Obama.

There's two ways to discuss this issue, whether it be here or on the floor of the US House. You can either talk the talk, or you can get down to factual discussions.

I have no doubt in my mind that there are righties here on this forum that have some ideas on how we as a society could reduce the number of weapons that end up in the hands of crazy people, but they will never speak out because the others will swoop down on his/her RINO traitor "eeks" and he/she will be considered a blastphemist outcast coward for the remainder of his/her lifetime.

Hey,..... we cannot stop them all. We all know that. There is no logical argument that says we could have stopped all of the killings that's made world news during the past decade. But showing no effort puts the next massive killing event back on us ..... again.

Millions of extended clips are sold every day to ordinary citizens..Shooting is fun..In fact its as fun as hell..Those whom slam guns or gun owners or think the answer is taking guns away from private citizens is nuts..Any rifle can be an assault rifle..It doesn't matter how many rounds it holds. The NRA represents a very small portion of gun owners. Most people don't bother to join.If you have 3 million people then you can guarantee a million of them have guns..and most people have several..Anti gun nuts think there aren't that many guns or extended clips out there and we can all just show up and toss them in a pile..lol..Never happen and never will you regulate how many rounds gun manufacture will make his guns hold..Technology doesn't work that way..Its always "bigger better" everything we build..Also there are so many other countries manufacturing guns that no one will stop it..I know obama wants to try..I also know he wants to disarm America in order to make us defenseless from our own government..But its what aided us to be free America in the first place..I would put more effort in taking guns away from criminals instead..Look how obama left Chicago..30 to 40 murders a weekend,,every weekend..And guess what ???Very few assault rifles involved..Mostly stolen hand guns..DONT LET THUGS STEAL GUNS AND THEY WONT HAVE THEM...Its pretty simple to me..profile gang members and search them nightly if need be..

I'm gonna lay this out in simple easy to understand terms.

When shootings occur like that in Colorado (pick one) the moral reaction to some people are to take a look at what we as a society could do to stop such a tragedy from happening again. THAT is just human nature for those who have a conscience.

Personally, when I see video of a 6 year old shooting victim being carried away lifeless in the arms of a sobbing police officer, it bothers me a little.

On the other hand, when such events happen and make CNN, then and only then do you see representatives of the NRA come front and center to our news media reporters with messages that "the lefties are coming for your guns!"

This talk sparks up the gun packers and they start with that lame old, "from my cold dead hands" noise, which is exactly the goal of the NRA. Mission Accomplished. They now have their constituency pumped up for a fight that doesn't exist.

Then you have the likes of the Koch brothers and Asleson who pump a few million into tv political ads in the south to stir the pot. Not that the Koch brothers or Adelson give 2 sh!ts about gun control but they are all for keeping the rightiwing nutcases fired up, pist off, and hatin' lefties.

Once the NRA has their fans and members set at a fever pitch, they walk away and you don't hear squat from them until the next election or the next mass homicide.

In other words, simply stated, the NRA is playing you against your neighbor. It sells guns.
