I want to express my disgust with a couple of my neighbors. The woman works for the BOE and the man works for Clarke County. They appear to be your everyday, all american family but inside their heads there is definately soomething wrong. They have a teenage son who my 15 year old daughter (14 at the time) is dating. We let the boy come over and visit sometimes. One day my daughter wanted to go to their house. So we sat down with the mother of the boy and made her understand that the kids were not to be together behind closed doors. She agreed in a "goes without saying" kind of manner. "Believe me, we don't want any grandkids yet....HA HA HA" was her exact response. Well at the age of 14 my daughter got pregnant. They said they couldn't believe it and that they were just as shocked and disappointed as we were. Now 6 months and thousands of tears later I'm finding out that not only did these people know they were having sex there, they allowed and encouraged it to continue! One time the father even banged on the wall and told my daughter to be more quiet. Then he bought them condoms, which they didn't use, and he knew about that too. To top all of that off, the father has since told my daughter that she can marry at 16 with a child and there's nothing I can do about it. He's even encouraging her to get married and move in with them. I've asked them nicely not to allow that because she needs to stay unmarried at least until after high school.... no response.
What can I do to get through to these people. They are quite possibly the dummest people I have ever met, which puts them pretty high in the running for the dummest world wide. They seem hell bent on destroying my daughters life. If there is anyone who reads this and wants to comment, please let these people (and me) know what you think of their parental skills and behavior. This is the kind of thing that keeps the teen pregnancy rate high, Georgia graduation rate low and wellfare tax money flowing out of control.

It's a sad situation your in. It sounds like they are more in tune as to what was going on in your daughters life than you. It makes me wonder what she (your daughter) is telling them about you.

I feel for you, but, you asked, what in the hell kind of parent are u? I have a 12 year old, it will snow in Hell before she starts to date, much less going over to a boys home. What were you doing when u were 15 & 16, same thing they are doing now at 12 and 13. Jesus, I know this is tough on you, I know it would be on me. You should have not allowed it, now u have lost all control with your daughter. Now ur going to have to help her raise a child if you want her to stay in ur life. Good luck and god bless

I agree with "you ask for", you have lost control. Should she get married, she can still finish school. Sadly, this seems to be more of a common thing. Its always depending upon the person...but, she can still go to college and pursue a career. Its not the end of her life. Just a beginning of another (your grandchild). The more you push on her might push her further away.

I also agree w/ plastic & you ask for, but will throw in a little extra advise - since you've asked. I don't think that she can get married, at her age, without the consent of both you and her father. Something you could find out for certain very easily with one phone call to an attorney or take the cheap way out and google ga law on the legal age to wed. Marriage is something that is not taken seriously anymore and this is something that shouldn't be decided by you, the boy's parents, nor anyone else except by your daughter - when she's ready and when she's an adult. Just my extra 2 cents worth. Try praying together. God luck!

Daily Horoscope for December 7

Virgo

Enjoy today's lively atmosphere. It's great for throwing yourself into social settings and mixing with as many people as possible. You'll feel no hint of shyness or nerves, even if you're facing a room full of strangers. If things have been tricky with a near neighbor or close relative recently, this is a good day to sort things out even if you have to be quite tough in the process.
