Stark in superior court after being charged with 1st degree murder

I can't help wondering WHY Ms. Stark is being prosecuted.

Fact: Her ex violated a restraining order kicking him out of the house and went at the poor woman. Logically, doesn't the immediate violation of a court restraining order designed to protect someone from domestic violence immediately instill a reasonable fear in the protected party that would justify self-defense???

This poor woman clearly explained her fear of this monster in her restraining order. Having been abused for years by my own ex-husband, I can only imagine the things she is still probably too embarassed to talk about. Domestic violence is evil, insidious and something none of us wants to talk about because of the shame.

I've been there, and I know that if my ex ever comes at me again, I'll gladly go spend time with Ms. Stark rather than let him hurt me again.

Personally, the only offense I see, beyond Ms. Stark's failure to put all six rounds into this newly made fertilizer, is the Police Department's failure to congratulate her for doing their job. Disgusting.

Jenneys comments are so shallow. Seeing she is from Orange, CA, my guess is she was or is a member of the same orgy club Shellye had apparently retired from. That, I believe is the subject Shellye is embarrased to talk about, along with her $300 per hour "call girl" service.
Not domestic violence. The desire to silence someone is not a free ticket to murder. It was hardly self defense. If in fact Dale was approaching Shellye, 1 shot from a 357 would have stopped him. To unload the entire gun into him shows an obvious intent to murder. And by the way, often a premeditated murder is often preceded by a restraining order.

The way I read it, Shellye had moved away, leaving their son with Dale so she can be with another guy in California. THEN she decides to show up in the middle of the night to serve him a restraining order, in the home he's been living ...demanding that HE leaves at 2 AM?

What mother would actually discuss potential "gun play" with their child...the whole thing stinks.

I look forward to having a jury finding her "guilty" of first-degree murder.

I want to know why mom, sister, and nephew are not also up on charges for conspiracy to commit murder. They conspired to transport a weapon across state line that was used in a brutal killing. What mother would provide there chid with a gun unless they were morally bankrupt.

this is so wrong this women moves to another state away from her husband and son hooks up with a man who used to be her cilent then gos and kills her husband for what a house or money well she would have gotten the life ins even if they got divorced this women is evil and if you think she was in the right then your as sick as her.. she gave up her family to be a hooker what a great mother.. shots her husband 5 times 3 as hes running for the door and did it to protect herself bull if that was the case thats what police are for.. she went to hospital where her sister was and got the kill put it in her waistband and sat in the dark waiting ya it sounds like he was after her dont think so i think this hooker and killer should be in jail not a hotel which her clients got bail for her what is wrong with the courts isant killing agist the law i thought it was well i guess if your boyfriend is a lawyer you can get away with murder.. thanks i hope she gets life in prison

We were not there and WE do not know what or why it happened. News papers say the gun was in her purse..and in the waistband NOW WHERE WAS IT? Reserve your vile judgements and pray that the legal systems in WA State are up to being fair.
I support a battered women's home and have seen women and their babies leave the house in the middle of the night to escape the wrath of abuse.Some we had to transport to the hospital. Some eventually were killed. I just ask that you think before you cast stones. REMEMBER WE WERE NOT THERE!

Where does it say that she was battered? From the article it appears that she was living in California with another man and not living in Spokane getting abused by him.
And if she anticipated danger enough to where she found it necessary to bring a gun and forewarn her son of possible gunplay, she should have involved law inforcement instead of going there herself.
Anyone who can't see that she premeditated this murder is a complete idiot.

I just got to know if the media can dig up anything regarding Shellye Starks sister, who I now hear also killed her husband. If this is the case, seems husband killing is an acceptable practice in their family. A very warped frame of mind.

Hard to believe that someone (Shellye) can murder their husband, shooting him 5 times with a 357 including 3 times in the back on Dec 9 and be out of jail by Jan 3. I don't agree with the legal system in that regard, just hope it does not fail me (or Dale) when all is said and done with the trial.

I knew Dale..and Shelly threatened me several years ago to kill me if i didnt stop being friends with dale..She was very voilent, flew off the handle easy, would date other men around Spokane and flaunt it in front of Dale..she would slap Dale in public and yell at him..Shes totally psychotic...Those of you who doubt anything, read the police report! Her being a whore for so many years and the fact that she moved from Spokane years ago and has been living with one of her former clients...just makes me ill..Her son is testifying against his mother...because their stories are opposite..i am attending her pre trial tomorrow Jan 22nd 8:30am-10am, Judge Jerome Leveque Courtroom #403 in Spokanes Superior Court! I hope she gets worse than life in jail...She doesnt deserve to live...and hate to tell you, there is NO physical evidence that she has EVER been physically battered or abused by Dale..it's heresay from Shelly! Easy to say such things when the person your accussing is DEAD and cant defend themself!!!!!!

Oh and SHELLY is the one who claims that the gun was in her PURSE...when others verified that it was in her waist band of her pants..those out of state, read the police report before thinking you know all thats going on..and if you KNEW either party in person helps..All a woman has to do nowadays is cry wolf of abuse..doesnt make it so or that is happened..and IF it did, why the hell was she at the house while having the restraining order served..she should have done it the RIGHT way and had it served by police who would have made Dale leave the house and then Shelly could of entered the house...but, shes been gone for years..She doesnt have rights to the house..it was in Dales name only..she left him to go be a whore and do whatever..she surely doesnt have her sons best interest at heart by saying she was coming back to get custody after she already signed the divorce papers..she's just trying to get out of either life in jail or better yet, death penalty..things have back fired on her plan and now shes trying not to drown...

Hey Brandi, Please give us an update (all the details) after you attend the hearing. I'm in Calif and could not make this initial hearing. If this goes to trial, My wife and I are for sure making the trip to Spokane. Dale and I were buds since 2nd grade. I'm the ex girlfriend shellye's CA boyfriend was lying to the whole time he was screwing around with her. I really can't say I'm very fond of either one of them but they are perfect for each other since they are both liars.
