Swastika spottings may not mean much

Full story: Chico Enterprise-Record

They may be offensive, but police said a big increase in the number of swastika taggings around Chico doesn't appear to be anything more than mindless vandalism.

A crudely sprayed nazi swastika was sprayed on the Madrone Bridge over Lindo Channel a couple of weeks ago along with the words "PV white pride".
Pride is one thing that can be good, but mixed with the deadly hate of nazi ideology that targets all races (even other Caucasians)is alarming.
Thanks to the people that clean these abominable messages from our public spaces.

I am much more worried about the gang graffiti behind my office than a swastika painted by some idiot that probably doesn't even know what it means.

When swastikas appeared in the late 1930's, they thought they didn't mean anything either. Look what happened then!

No artistic talent to draw a swastika. Not even a little? Whomever is painting these needs to know the proper direction the arms point. Since the average iq of someone who would paint a swastika is around the average hat size of an adult male. I would say for that person it took a lot of artistic talent. So much so they probably had to go sleep, their brain was so exhausted from using it's yearly supply of talent all at once.

Way back in 1964-65 in Southern California, some hardcore surfers liked to call themselves Surf Nazis, and even occasionally wore German helmets with swastikas on them.
I was way too young to be among that group, but one time a few of my elementary school buddies got hold of one of those helmets, and we took turns wearing it on the playground.
The teachers and other adults totally freaked and confiscated the helmet.
They knew we were only emulating the big kids, and really had no idea of the symbolism we were using, but we as kids were fascinated by the strong reaction from the adults, and I can see how some kids would keep doing it just for the attention.
It was at least 5 more years before I understood what it was all about, back in those days "Rise and Fall of the Third Reich" was still required reading for 10th grade history classes.

Wake up folks we have an issue in Butte County!! This is just the begining of a big problem. Remember just a few years ago we didn't have a gang problem and what did that lead to? We have white power folks all around us. Remember jsut becasue it doesn't effect you now doesn't mean that it will not in the near future!! We have a big issue in Butte County.

It's probably some of Paul Zingg's students who are behind all of this.

I have been here 31 years.(Paradise) and I can tell you it sure hasn't gotten much better. The things people say up here sometimes is unreal, and they think nothing of it. It scares me to think I live among so much hate, in a town I love so much. I am embarrassed by the ignorance of these people over and over.

Most looked like they were calling the cops Nazi's. But, I will agree with the above statement - hate is prevalent. Some people I've worked with here, things they say, tattoos they have, scare me.

What's so funny 'bout peace, love & understanding?

I hsve a relative that got mixed up with one of these NAZI kids. His family are Hitler worshipers. They are all dope users, including the meth and the Marijuna.
If these morons were actually in Hitler's Germany, they would be the first to be shot.

If anything, they were High School Kids....the kids of locals....not college students.
