During last week's grand opening celebration at Columbus Elementary School a chorus of teachers gathered under the direction of Music Teacher Karen Juarez for a Red Ribbon Anticipation presentation.

I've never forgotten a college teacher telling my class that our body is a temple from GOD and not to damage it with cigarettes, drugs, or alcohol. In the OLD days we did not have Red Ribbon classes.

For some reason I can still vividly recall that moment....but not what we were studying.

Yes, I did follow her advice these many years! Good Luck to ALL the Luna County students...Stay sober and clean!
