The foriegn films idea at the Plaza Theatre would be incredible, if someone could make it so. In fact, I'd enjoy these myself, if they included subtitles. I had a favorite little theatre at Ansley Mall in Atlanta back in the early 1980s when I lived there where I enjoyed quite a few films from France, Spain, and one favorite from the Netherlands I still consider one of my favorite movies, "Keetje Tippel". The Plaza has such fond memories for so many of us besides...

Sad to say that the Plaza is being torn down. They started demolishing it on 01/22. I went by there today and the concession area and the smaller side theatre had been torn down.

they are designing that area to subconsciously cause riff raff not to be drawn there. Columbus is careful. Columbus laughs and learns from its mistakes. no more purple lights on malls. rim mentality is hhhhhhell to the naw.

Saw some good films there myself, the first Star Wars, Henry Winkler's big screen debut Heroes, several James Bond films... the list would go on a while.

And so it goes.

high ups did no want books a million smokers loitering out front if it was Atlanta little five points style niche' film showings revitalized. the crowd in front of the books a million almost ruined the plaza revitalization efforts in those first crucial years. once that was out of the way careful choices are making a success out of the plaza. no ruiners like destroyed doonanny. Donanny was at first like the Gay Georgia Town craft fair. Then you know who ruined it. By the way Gay is the name of the town in Georgia with the fair for those not familiar. It has nothing to do with sexual orientation. Gay does havae another use in the English language which it is not purile in nature. But back to the plaza. It was almost ruined by gross loiter smoking on the sidewalk. Word has it developers are keeping a keen eye open. Good thing the National Guard Armory was converted to a headquarters for law enforcement agencies. Keeps a heavy law presence in the plaza area to clear off any shenanigans of potential creeps.
