Luke 10
Woes to Unrepentant Cities 13.Woe unto thee, Chorazin ! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which have been done in you, they had a great while ago repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. 14. But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at judgment, than for you. 15. And thou Capernaum, which art exalted to heaven, shalt be thrust down to hell.16 He that heareth you hearth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me;and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me.
Luke 11
52. Woe unto you, lawyers! For ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye enter not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered.

Guilty of copy pasting senseless gibberish taken out of context. The word is not Lawyers as in what we have in a court room. It is nomikos (Greek) which is teacher of the Mosaic law. If you can't learn English at least learn some Greek.

Unnecessary Public Danger wrote: <quoted text> Well shouldn't the small town police got a ticket for speeding also if it took 120 MPH to catch you? Who endangered the public more you at 16 over or the police at 50 over? Was there car video of the chase? Where was back up and how does small town insurance cover such dangerous chases when on I-65? The point is that it's all about revenue and it pisses me off. Cornersville purposely had the city limits extended to annex in part of I65 just so they could sit out there and write tickets. Marshall County Sucks anyway, always have.

The people of Cornersville should be pissed. While their PD is off playing state trooper on I-65, the town is completely unprotected. Small towns have police for one reason: to protect the townspeople and their businesses. CPD is not fulfilling its obligation to the citizens who fund their department. Where is the money from all of these citations being spent? The town looks the same year after year. Who is pocketing this money?

I know first hand about the county covering numerous calls within the city limits of Cornersville between the years of 2000-2007. I'm not going to tell you if I was a jailer, a deputy, or a dispatcher because I don't want to become a target. I know for a fact that it happened, and I know that it led to the POST Commission taking a hard look at what was going on down there. In all honesty, the CPD should have been shut down and the town should have become an unincorporated area.

In all honesty, the CPD should have been shut down and the town should have become an unincorporated area. So the POST Commission took a hard look at what was going on. Since nothing became of that, one would have to believe nothing was amiss. Without first hand evidence, I would have to think those calls were assist calls (assisting the CPD), not in place of. Assist calls would not be unexpected or out of the ordinary. If by chance the County was dispatch alone, there must have been some sort of acceptable, or reasonable explanations for the Commission to not act on them. In addition, if you have evidence of wrong doing, you should feel obligated to bring that forward. However, your knowledge only extends to 2007. It has been five years now, which is a long time for many changes to have been since incorporated or for others to speak up, and in fact many changes have occurred since 2007. No offense to you, since I can't say I know you, you sound like you may be a little disgruntled (and maybe rightly so). One thing I do know about this county is that not everyone is happy with those left in charge, but little can be done about that if they are not doing anything outright illegal. Poor management has always been a problem, and I do know that first hand.

Poor management has always been a problem, and I do know that first hand. Believe me, I have first hand knowledge. I will say that I was either a dispatcher or a deputy. I won't say which because people can and will target me for talking about such things openly. I can say with 100% accuracy that a Marshall County deputy was answering a call inside the Cornersville city limits because the CPD was busy with a traffic stop on I-65. It happened at least two times that I am aware of first hand. POST put them under the microscope and changes were made. They stopped sitting on the interstate for a while, but then they resumed the practice. I am not disgruntled, I'm just stating facts. My knowledge does not extend past 2007, yet I wonder how anything could have changed considering they annexed all the way out Lynnville Hwy for the purpose of bringing I-65 into the city limits in a second location.

Just based on what you convey, it is a shame that anyone would speak out against you for simply voicing your opinion, BUT... I also understand that. You probably have already given enough to ID you, but I personally don't care. That said, just because an officer was busy with a stop on 65 does not mean the county cannot handle a call. That is bound to happen when the approving authorities approved it to begin with. As with any authoritative entity, all parties must agree to how each situation will play out. If they decide it is not a working solution, it is up to them to make changes. If the CPD is "back" to doing I65 duty, it must be with everyone's approval or it would have been put to a stop or soon will be. I know these dickers well, nothing happens good or bad without someones approval.

Who really in Cornersville gives a damn about someone speeding on I-65. Everybody knows that they do it for one reason and one reason only, REVENUE. A very poor excuse for the patrol but it has to start with your city manager, mayor and his council. The police will only do what the powers that be want. Why doesn't someone ask Brandon why they run patrols on the interstate instead within the housing subdivisions of Cornersville and see what his excuse is. REVENUE from outsiders!!!

Start handing out tickets to locals who park the wrong way on the side of the streets since the beginning of time. We are taught to park the right way for several safety reasons, flow of traffic and to utilize your rear reflectors. No one wears seatbelts either, there is hundreds of dollars out there waiting to be collected. Why dont the state troopers write up these folks, they drive back and forth? Why dont the locals ticket folks? Oh yea, they are all related and most positions are elected positions, silly me.

I have lived here 16 years and don't even know the names of the local officers. I could care less about the residents parking against traffic the highway is PLENTY wide enough for me to avoid the vehicles on the side of the road. As far as people riding with out restraints....what about every other city?

Those who give the nod to have the police give tickets are elected. Plenty wide? So that trumps the law? OK, that explains why you live where you live. Riding without restraints is OK because other cities do? Where are you speaking of, other cities within the county? Drive to an educated city and look how many wear their belts. It is not only the smart thing to do, it is the law. Again, that statement alone explains a lot. Hopefully you do not work for the city or county.

That part of the interstate has populous areas on both sides of the interstate in what is definitely a city situation. Cornersville and the interstate, not so much! There is no logical reason for Cornersville police to patrol the interstate, well except to bolster the city funds.
