Most of Jam-town is comprised of illiterate inbreds, who have likely not only never read Mark Twain, but are unable to. Few would be able to identify who he was, or what he did.

Now if you interviewed them about the best trailers to rob, or where to fence stolen junk, you'd probably hit pay dirt.
