I can only tell you what the word says. Ephesians 4:26 reads be ye angry but sin not. Jesus said if you have ought against your brother, leave your gift at the altar and go and be reconciled with your brother. If you feel this anger is hurting you spiritually, go to that person and try to work it out but if that person will not receive it, then leave it alone. It takes two to reconcile. If you do go to that person, do not get angry. If you do go to that person, ask forgiveness from God if you haven't already. God bless you and go in peace.

you are right MrOwl...forgiveness should be from God...this is something that happened years ago, but I can't let go of the notion that I need to ask forgiveness for my anger, although I had every reason to be angry, but not in saying the things I did...I loved this person very much but he hurt me almost beyon repair..we both went on with our lives, married someone else, but the sad part is that I still love him and always will but I love my husband also,,,have prayed and prayed for an ans...somewhere there has to be peace

There is peace and you have not accepted the fact there is peace. You both went on with your lives and you have revealed that you still love him and love your husband. You are beating yourself up with this and it need not be. Love is both a noun and a verb. The love you have for this man is the noun. You cannot let go of the notion you need to ask forgiveness for your anger. Are you speaking of him or Him, the man or God? You are walking on very thin ice in this situation. As long as God forgives you, mankind does not have to. Be very careful in this situation. Ask God what you should do about it and if He leaves it up to you, leave it alone. I say this by the power invested in me by the Father, thy sins are forgiven.

MrOwl...I really think that God is leaving it up to me to solve this problem, but I am afraid to go any further with it, yet I know I will never have any peace until I do...why? Maybe I never knew him at all...Maybe this is caused by my husbands illness because I know before long I am going to be alone and I want my life in order...or maybe I am simply loosing it...lol...any way thanks for talking to me, it really helps to have someone to listen for a change.

Go in peace and I hope you make the right decision. You are in my prayers and whatever you decide to do and whatever the result, always remember God loves you. You are quite welcome. I needed someone to help me with my battle scars and God in His infinite lovingkindness and graciousness sent me a woman who was longsuffering and put up with me all these years. I fought that war over and over and in 1998 one day she told me and these are her very words, in God's sight you have no Viet Nam and from that day to this It has not bothered me. Again, go in peace.
