I am so suspicious.
Encouraging free speech from the ACLU is most definitely cause for suspicion.
Add me to the "paranoid".

Paranoid for good reason. Any group that defends nambla must be monitored.

The ACLU has always been about free speech and expression. If you guys would stop and think and ge your information from a real news outlet you would understand that. Your party of freedom and liberty has been and continues to be the greatest barrier to that free expression.

Well, the ACLU might have had good intentions in it's founding. Often, liberal/progressive/democrat institutions and policies have "good intentions" but the actual results are often "unintended" and not especially good.
I can find good things about the ACLU but I can also site many wasted tax dollars for ridiculous lawsuits that do indeed curtail freedom. I personally believe the ACLU has lost its way.

The ACLU is very aware of what the new administration has going on, I think you are going to be seeing some rather uncharacteristic things coming out of the ACLU. If the administration has the ACLU nervous perhaps more people need to pay more attention.

Maybe in this case you should get your information from history instead of the news? ACLU was founded by a Communist.

Not all communist ideas are bad and that's coming from a cold warrior. You can get good things from almost anywhere.

Reflecting on his early years as the ACLU's Executive Director, Baldwin candidly revealed his original motives and objectives: "I am for socialism, disarmament, and ultimately, for abolishing the state itself as an instrument of violence and compulsion. I seek social ownership of property, the abolition of the properties class, and sole control of those who produce wealth. Communism is the goal. It all sums up into one single purpose -- the abolition of dog-eat-dog under which we live. I don't regret being part of the communist tactic. I knew what I was doing. I was not an innocent liberal. I wanted what the communists wanted and I traveled the United Front road to get it."

Baldwin maintained an office in the United Nations after his retirement from the ACLU, working as a consultant for the International League for Human Rights. He died in 1981

Communism is a great idea for a family unit, in fact most families could be viewed as communistic units. It just does NOT work well on a larger scale.

There is a difference between communal and communist?

I didn't much like my mother taking money from my work and redistributing it to non working siblings.
