It just seems odd that a 'President' would be so flustered as to shake hands with the emporor AND bow. During introductions most people do one or the other.
Bowing to spirtual leaders is proper for a president because he is NOT of that level. Bowing to a POLITICAL leader is NOT proper.

George W. Bush was a kind, considerate man to all of the older leaders, helping them walk etc. but never, never would he bend a knee to bow to anyone
Nope. But he gave the Saudi King a big wet kiss and held his hand.

You're right, fistv - in that many of us were not thrilled with either choice. My personal feeling is that mccain would have been the far lesser of the two evils in that case. But, regardless, we have the result we have and we must deal with it.
Not sure what you mean about the single ticket thing. The candidates are already lined up by party and office voting for. The single ticket option is there but certainly not mandatory. Did you mean to remove that option? Probably a good idea - if there are people who think they "have" to vote their party only.(Except of course the primaries)
Kanjorski got in on the coat tails of Obama, the fact that many many college students voted straight ticket. My daughter was a perfect example, ESU had some 'educators' that were getting the college kids out to vote, the 'educators' pointed out the 'straight ticket' lever/button and made no mention of 'individual' voting or cross party voting or independent voting or write in. Probably an acorn branch.

Young people,Especially students think it's cool to vote straight democratic party because of the rock persona that engulfs the party. More especially when they use the internet, chat and such. Most of the really young haven't yet found out what's it's like to pay all those taxes to pay for all the garbage being laid on us nor do may of them have the responsibility of paying their own way.

Just my opinion.

An article entitled "U.S., Russian leaders say nations closer to deal to cut nuclear arms" from CNN.com

or, paraphrased for the understanding of the regulars of this forum "US Kisses Russian Ass"

Whatever you call it, how good it is to see dialogue between US and Russia instead of hostility.

They aren't for real. All they know how to do is put down our President. They hated him before he got in and they look for things to put him down about now. They nit pick everything that he says or does. They will vote against their own good, and make the rich richer. I am amazed, and ashamed. Is this what America has become, we want our President, our Country to fail???
Did you see the video where the President went to Russia, no one on the recieving line would shake his hand, that was disrepect to our country, I would of got back on the plane and left. Another thing why is the President requesting the Congress to delay the investigation in the terrorist attack at Fort Hood?

Right. And they will promise to cut their arms as soon as we divest ourselves of ours. What are they doing back in Cuba and Venezuela? Striking distance? BTW, Russia is really a racist country. Lynchings and all.

Had many discussions with my Niece when she was in college. At a liberal school, her opinion of conservatives was rounded out by the extreme left that dominated the faculty and students alike. I'd like to think I got through, Now, at least she questions Obama and his ideas.
Of course she is working and struggling to pay rent now.

It is not at all presidential to bow to another head of state! We are the most powerful country in the world, he needs to start acting like it. It's called being WEAK and yes, Obama supporters know all about that!!!

Respect = weak?

After the last "bow", the leader was so inclined to help us "weaklings" out that his own army attacked an area known for harboring AL Quaida... sorry you missed the tape Bin Laden sent in response. He was spitting mad! While very threatening, there is some satisfaction in knowing that we are getting closer and he's getting desperate and upset. That's when people make mistakes.

The universities are over flowing with socialist/liberal professors who spout their venom on unsuspecting young men and women. Especially the bigger cities.
