Child Beauty Pageants

Its sick parents that put little girls in outfits that would make a hooker blush the have then parade around in front of large crowds. then they wonder why and how the perves get access to these little girls when they announce their address age and everything to the whole world.If anything happens to these little girls then i think their sick mothers should be held as accery to the crime. they should be banned all together but i know thats not going to happen. beauty pagents are about the dumbest thing since bungy jumping off bridges.the dumbest thing i hear most say that like pagents is it builds self esteem self esteem for what being a good hooker.like everything else its all about the money some of those moms will work three jobs to buy a dress for one pagent.

let's blame the girl walking down the street in a short skirt when she gets raped. she had to be asking for it.

Some of you are just sick yourself. I will have to agree with Maggie on this one!! Why blame the parents or the kids? It isn't normal for an older adult to even think about a young girl in a sexual way..I dont care if there was a 3 year old naked with make-up on..It would be sick for anyone to even look at them in a sexual manner! I guess Cheerleaders are asking to be raped and molested also...Get your mind right people!!!

there's a big difference between pimping out your kid and entering a beauty pageant.
while i agree that mrs. ramsey went a little overboard with some of the costumes, it still does not give anybody the right to judge her or pageants.
big hair and make up are just part of the pageant. and it really shouldn't matter as long as the kid is not being forced to do it. i've seen the kids that were forced and they managed to screw up just enough so mom would get fed up after a while and quit. i have seen a little girl get slapped across the face because she screwed up a turn and didn't win. well, that's a shitty parent. and we took care of her.
my kid was always asked if she wanted to do one. she said yes or no and that was the end of it. the ones here don't have all the glitz that jonbenet were in. but there was a little makeup, lots of ruffles and lace and glitter.
so, she did them til she was about 10-11 years old and then got other things on her mind and just quit.
is she damaged? NO. she is a nurse now. she has no trouble talking infront of a crowd if she has to. she is not too shy or backward to stand her ground. she graduated with honors. no drugs, never pregnant, never been arrested and got her first job at 16 and has worked ever since.
with what some of these kids get into she damn near perfect if you ask me.

oh yeah, i didn't mention her life besides pageants....

first gun at 6 years old. first four wheeler at 5 years old. first driving lesson at 8 years old (late bloomer), cheerleading, t-ball, little league, homecoming queen, homecoming princess, color gaurd, sheriff's dept. explorer program where she went to the police academy and ended up helping teach the other kids how to shoot and about gun safety.

so, if she had been raped while in her little league or mini cop uniform, i guess she would have been asking for it? or it would have been my fault for letting her do pageants when she was a kid??

Child molestor are everywhere not just near beauty pageants, granted I do agree to all the make up or expense paid out I think girls should go natural looking, no fake anything, but they are fun and can be addictive I encourage you to not participate more than 4 times a year all in fun!! when she was younger (10-13) and rap music was getting worse and worse i didn't really tell her she couldn't listen. i did use "parental controls" when buying though!! i couldn't stand the stuff so when she turned it on in her room i just turned my music up louder!!
finally at about 15-16 she started stealing my cds!! i would find skynyrd, def lepperd, eagles, nugent, creedence, charlie daniels, steven miller band, guns n roses.....all the good stuff was in her room!!
she finally listened to mommy and grew a brain!!
she has been around guns since birth. we live just a few miles from my parents and there's guns everywhere. hell, my dad used to keep one of his gun safes in my closet when i was little.
i felt she needed to be taught at a young age about guns so she wouldn't end up killing herself or somebody else. she ended up taking a liking to them and started learning to shoot at around 4 years old. ok, i didn't know but when she would go with my parents to spend the weekend at the place in the mountains, my dad taught her. he did the same thing with me too.
at least now, at 22, she has enough sense to get in out of the rain.

I disagree. Some pageants are actually done with style, no make-up, no sleezy outfit etc. Ever been to a recital? I think pageants are great if they are done to showcase talent and do not focus on "beauty." Try stepping outside of this whole Jon Benet scenario...that was extreme!

It is absolutly disgusting the way that parents make their little children dress and act like prostitutes is absolutely dispicable.

it is sad that the parents feel the need to exploit their child like a doll, to sell their child out.

i will never do something like that to my child!!!!!

I dissagree, just because a girl is wearing a miniskirt doesn't mean she deserves to be raped. It may be a hot day or she might just be wearing it as a once off thing. that comment was completely false

well DUH! of course it doesn't!
just like a child in a beauty pageant isn't asking to be raped and killed by a child molester.
it doesn't matter what the child is wearing. look at all the other kids that are molested every day and they are not jonbenet. they are not in pageants. they are outside playing in the mud or on a swing set or whatever.
but blamming the child's parents for putting her in a pageant is about as stupid as blaming the girl wearing the short skirt for getting raped.

cherleaders are just people who like gymnastics there not asking for it but i do agree with maggie

I don't think anyone asks to be rapped. It's not the victims fault nor the parents. The only one to blame is the sick worthless person who would want to hurt someone in that kind of way. I don't think there should be pagents. It ruins so many lives because the parents push it to far, now that's the parents fault, But I have never heard of anyone being rapped just becuase they were in a pagent. I would never put my child in a pagent for the simple fact I don't need anyone to tell me how pretty my child is and all parents should feel the same....it's sad to know that there are parents who needs "paid off" judges to tell them there child is handsome or pretty. Not only that but prettiness and handsomness also comes from inside. As for as "JEFF YOUNG" I really don't believe thats the real Jeff Young from ACHS!!! I do not think "jeff young" is on here either. someone is just claiming to be him. He isn't that stupid and i think he was in court today. Maybe he's in jail?
