Being a person who is close to someone with a mental illness, it breaks my heart to see people making fun of this man. Mental illness is not funny it is heartbreaking to see someone you love lose his or her mind slowly everyday.

I just got home here at about 1:50 p.m. after having been kept at the Hyland Hilton Hotel at Saint Anthony's Hospital in Saint Louis County. Now I am free again and I need to catch up and complete the posts that I was uploading last week.

I think the flames come from pretty obvious substance abuse, and I believe many on here are convinced the way he acts are because of substance abuse more so than any kind of mental issues. He posted a thread not awhile back wanting to sue Dollar General because the police told them not to sell him cough syrup. He has smoked pot in his videos, and mentioned LSD use. Is this a mental issue he can't help, or has he brought it upon himself? My only experience with David was when I saw him at Tinys a few months ago. He didn't appear to be "on anything" and acted very, very normal. Nothing like I've seen in the videos.

Wow. We sure have one screwed up system. I don't understand what the point is of repeatedly putting this guy into the hospital for three days and then just releasing him so he can get in trouble all over again. Why isn't he put into some sort of substance treatment program for an extended stay, and upon release required to pass piss tests to stay out of prison? It sure seems like money is just being thrown away to keep putting him in for these short stints over and over. I don't believe this is helping him at all.

So you are saying that he should go to prison if he does drugs. The prisons are over populated and the governor is going to release felons. But in your mind we should send all mentally disabled people to prison if they do not pass a piss test? What drugs are you taking?

At some point the free pass to do whatever he wants should run out. Or, maybe if the police just stop by and tell David that he is a very nice person and has great taste in music, he will change his behavior and no longer stalk Girl Scout camps or make harassing calls to government agencies and doctors' offices. And since you asked, I don't take any drugs, and definitely won't after seeing Dave's videos.

Americans With Disabilities Act has laws for the mentally ill. If they are no harm to themselves or other people, they cannot keep them. They can take them in for evaluation and that is it.
