Man charged in sex assaults on children

I think this man should get the death penalty, my nephew was going to montessori school, he is going to be 5 in July, and I was going to enroll my 3 year old in the school so he could be with his cousin, I thank god I never did, this person is really sick and I don't understand how come this horrible incidents happened, where were the other teachers? I think the other teachers that were supposed to be in charge of the children at the time this terrible things happened, they should be responsible as well. This kids are going to be traumatized by what happened to them. David Farr always looked different, he didn't look normal, there was something about him, and I can't believe they let him be alone with the kids. I also don't understand how come they hire somebody that was charged with possesion of drugs in 1990. I think the owner of the school only wanted to make money and never cared about the kids, they were always so worried about their auctions and their fund raising for the school, I wonder, are they going to have a fund raising for the families affected by this psycho, or are they going to have a meeting so they can do something to keep this sick David Farr in prison forever. I don't think that saying that their hearts are with the families affected by this terrible incident is enough, they let David Farr do this ugly things to little angels, while the parents were paying the school to watch and teach their children, they were paying David Farr to sexually molest their children.

I think David should be put in prison for life not go on the dealt penalty that lets him get away from what he did to those kids. Also I know from first hand what it feels like to be sexually assulted. It hurts more then others would know. It took alot of counseling to help me but we still have to live with it from day to day.

I think we should wait until he is convicted and found guilty before we start throwing around sentences. Personally, I think crimes against children are deplorable but I do think you can't just find him guilty by what is written in the papers, etc. I find it strange that this is the first time he's been in trouble after working with kids for 12 years--doesn't make sense at all. We don't know for sure what he did, just what is reported in the papers and I wouldn't want to be making any decisions based on what I read in the paper--most of what is in print is just shite anyway.

The reason he hasn't been in trouble until now is because he was lucky enough not to get caught until now. What about all the priests that were molesting kids for years and years and didn't get caught until 30+ yrs later?

Here's what's scary about the montessori case:

1. He picked children (ages 2-3) who are not only clueless about inappropriate touching, but also had limited vocabulary and would completely beleive someoen if they told them they'd get into trouble if they told.

2. He used his position at the school to gain trust with the parents and teachers so that any suspicions would be dismissed.

I'm the family member of a victim in this case and I can tell you, my initial thought was "I don't believe he could have done this and gotten away with it for so long..." but once I knew more details and saw my family member's son saying things and doing things that were so shocking they bring tears to your eyes...then I knew.

The one message I'd like to leave with is this: please support the families if you know them. They are literally going through hell right now. Their lives have been turned completely upside down and their trust has been severely violated. This is by far one of the worst things to have to go through.

No he isn't innocent, he is really sick, and nasty and a dirty pig, and it makes me sick he is so happy righ now, at his house, just because he paid his bail, and who keeps that money??? it isn't the victims.

If I read the recent Interlake article correctly,
sounds like the prosecutor has a problem
he says the kids are incompetent to testify,
but wants a jury to believe what their parents say
they said? Hmmm. Anybody remember Wenatchee?
The Boston Little Rascals debacle? The Salem Witch Trials?

IF he is found gulity and convicted then he needs to go to prison. Not in prision were child molestor's are seperated, I mean the general population. He won't last a month.

I agree. The papers decide what you hear. They totally manipulate what the people hear and think. Think about it. They manipulate you.

If he's so evil, how come the prosecutor offered him a "no-time" probation deal? Maybe because the case isn't what the media have pumped it up to? And if he's so rotten, why didn't he jump at the deal? Instead he's apparently demanding a trial. May the truth appear at last and may justice prevail.

I'm glad a few of you beleive in justice. I've known David for many years. He is a kind considerate person who would never harm anyone, let alone a child.David's girlfreinds have all been beautiful intelligent women. He is not a pervert.

I simply cannot beleive he is guilty of theses crimes he is charged with. Those of you who are pronouncing sentence without facts should be ashamed of yourselves. I hope karma catches up to you.

Good on you Kelly. It is really sad how these families have been misled and mistreated by incompetent, ambitious, overzealous people, and it's not the first time. Does anyone remember the Earl Hunt case? Where a juror wrote the paper after the trial saying what a shabby farce the case was?

As for the plea bargain...be accurate. That plea was offered almost a year and a half ago, before the full scope of the abuse had been realized. That is standard operation, in many cases and YOU Demosthenes should know this. Who you are is no secret. Being directly related to the defendant AND in the legal profession. Dave didn't take the plea because his defense is wide-eyed, "I didn't do anything" and he thought that not many parents had come forward, the boys would be too young etc.
So, yes, he should be given a trial. Yes, the information can come out and it is much more damning than any knee-jerk defensive types here are aware of.
Why would any parent jump to "hysteria" in believing their child was molested. No parent wants that, ever, for their child. It would be with heavy heart, devastation and dread to realize that their family did not escape this. If anything, they would be looking for the hope and signs that their child was not abused by this man.
For any of you to say, shame on you, for thinking that people are jumping to conclusions...shame on YOU for blindly trusting that a "cool" guy couldn't be capable of such acts. It makes no diffence if he had wonderful, intelligent, beautiful women in his life...don't try to make logical sense out of a behaviour and acts that are not based in logic. Behaviour of this sort is abherrent.
Any research - will show that most child molesters are very charming, warm types...how better than to gain trust from parents, from children...how better to cover the too close relationship with the victims.

I too know Dave.
From the moment I met him, he gave me an uneasy feeling. Yes, whitefishkelly, you say "he is a kind considerate person who would never harm anyone, let alone a child." But that is the "perfect" child molestor. Yes, he had "beautiful intelligent girlfriends", but why does that stop him from being a molestor.(Points well stated by Escaladora.) And who says there has to be a specific starting point to becoming a molestor, who CARES if he has not gotten caught, or done anything up to now!

I took my child to the Whitefish Montessori. Practically everyday, he would be in close contact with the kids. He would make them paper airplanes, he would show them toys on his desk, he was carrying them, and they were sitting on his lap.

If my facts are correct, most of the alleged abuse happened during summer. At that time, summers at Whitefish Montessori were very relaxed, staffing was light since sometimes only a few kids were there. It doesn't surprised me.

I know the 3 of the 5 victims. He chose wisely. He chose chose not only the kids, but the family.

While I am not completely convinced he is guilty of all charges, I have a hard time believing he is innocent.

First of all, it doesn't matter who one is, the issue is whether one is honest and rational.
Second, as the Missoulian reported, the
plea offer of no time was made on the eve of trial when the prosecution had all its "facts". If the same offer was made before that, and then repeated, that's odd. But it was definitely made very recently.

DNA "innocence project". Isn't it about once a week we find out some person has been let out of jail because DNA proved that the witnesses, even the child witnesses, were wrong?
If you have the integrity to do these things, you will find that in fact family members get it wrong all the time, events are put in motion based on error and emotion. Innocent people, including the familes and children themselves, suffer.

What is wrong with you people! You are ready to put a man in prison for life, or worse yet, to death, and you don't even know if he's guilty!! You place judgement and you don't even know what's going on, you just think you do. I've seen too many people go to prison unjustly, for life, on death row...just because people judge without knowledge. You HAVE to look at the evidence...you can't wrongly accuse someone over emotion!
