Sham government. All I read is 8% rise, that we should be thankful it is not 25%, and bless them for giving back to us. Stop the merry-go-round I want to get off.

I admit, I was one of the people who helped make the democrats the house majority. I won't make that mistake again.

What a bunch of idiots. These legislators have broken the property tax system and now they can't fix it. Indiana will continue to lead the way in foreclosures in the nation because of all the people who aren't going to be able to meet their new tax bills. An 8% increase isn't even justifiable. Our homes don't appreciate 8% in a year. I'd like to know how they are coming up with their assessments....how is it right that a home assess for more than what one can sell it for? That's jaded and it's STEALING money from us, the taxpayers.

Thank you Earline Rogers for consistency and integrity for your votes. I still believe that the extended session should be enabled to properly resolve both property tax and budget. Hopefuly the Gov will absent himself to effectvely vetoe all of the legislative non-function and aberrant action.

That's jaded and it's STEALING money from us, the taxpayers. Please help me with accurate answers to this. It is not because our property assessment went up 8 or even 24%. It is how much they need the tax to increase to cover the cost of the loss of business taxes they were getting. Isn't that correct? Isn't what happened that a few years ago as part of a budget/tax plan the leaders who are rich (and probably business owners) decided to create a bill that was passed into law that took the burden away from businesses to pay for the budget and moved it onto taxpaying property owners? And the tax is variable depending on how much they need to cover the budget? If so, then they will need to repeal or change the law again. This will be difficult since it is probably not in their best interest financially. Hopefully though they will see the outrage of the citizens and require businesses to pay more. If that is not right please someone explain why this is happening. Thanks

The Republican Senate caved in on us when they said they would support innovative public charter schools. They caved to ISTA and the House Dems and left 2,200 of IN's students without a school choice this fall. If our kids were casinos it would be much better for them -- huh -- then, they would get support of IN Legislators. What a sorry bunch who failed our kids!
