Laughter is an instant vacation
www.thelaughtermovie.com Recent studies say we need at least 12 Laughs A Day just to stay healthy. My doctor is wonderful. Once, when I couldn’t afford an operation, he touched up the x-rays. I am a marvelous housekeeper. Every time I leave a man, I keep his house. I use to think I was indecisive, but now I’m not so sure. I’m not going to vacuum ‘till Sears makes one you can ride on. I like work; it fascinates me. I can sit and look at it for hours. Insanity doesn’t run in my family. It gallops. I have enough money to last me the rest of my life –unless I buy something. Inside me there’s a thin person struggling to get out, but I can usually sedate her with four or five cupcakes. Maybe I’m lucky to be going so slowly, because I may be going in the wrong direction. Each day I get up and look through the Forbes list of the richest people in America. If I’m not there, I go to work. I’ve exercised with women so thin that buzzards followed them to their cars. Last night I dreamed I ate a ten-pound marshmallow. When I woke up, my pillow was gone. As parents, my wife and I have one thing in common. We’re both afraid of children. All mothers have intuition. The great ones have radar. A little laughter is a wonderful thing… Share It With Others! |

The Gifts of Christmas What is the greatest gift that you have ever received? The gifts have been opened and the debris carted off to the trash. Some gifts met a special need, others have already been exchanged and a few will languish in a dark closet and eventually be recycled as a charitable donation. What is the greatest Christmas gift that you have ever received? I did hear a story about a fellow from the mountains of Tennessee who moved to Hollywood and made it big in the movies. To impress his mother with his newly acquired wealth and "high class taste", he sent her a fabulous Christmas gift. He bought his mountain momma an exotic Zakari bird and shipped it to her for a scheduled arrival on Dec. 24th. The bird spoke five languages. It could sing "O Holy Night". He paid $50,000 for it and sent the plump, colorful wonder to dear old Mom. On Christmas day, he called and inquired, "Momma, how did you like the bird I sent to you?" She responded, "Son, it was DELICIOUS!" Whoops! The greatest gift of all is not material, but spiritual. The Bible explains, "You are not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life; but, you are redeemed with the precious blood of Jesus Christ." (I Peter 1:18-19) God's Word tells us,"The wage of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 6:23) Jesus great gift meets your deepest need. It’s pretty awesome that Jesus died so that we could truly live. http://d21c.com/walpurgis9/happies/faces2/103... |

http://www.saysandiego.org/assets/img/photos/... http://www.naco.org/cnews/1997/97-05-26/elder... The Pastor and his son - Every Sunday afternoon, after the morning service at the church, the Pastor and his eleven year old son would go out into their town and hand out Gospel Tracts. This particular Sunday afternoon, as it came time for the Pastor and his son to go to the streets with their tracts, it was very cold outside, as well as pouring down rain. The boy bundled up in his warmest and driest clothes and said,'OK, dad, I'm ready.' His Pastor dad asked,'Ready for what?' 'Dad, it's time we gather our tracts together and go out.' Dad responds,'Son, it's very cold outside and it's pouring down rain.' The boy gives his dad a surprised look, asking,'But Dad, aren't people still going to Hell, eventhough it's raining?' Dad answers,'Son, I am not going out in this weather.' Despondently, the boy asks,'Dad, can I go? Please?' His father hesitated for a moment then said,'Son, you can go. Here are the tracts, be careful son.' 'Thanks Dad!' And with that, he was off and out into the rain. This eleven year old boy walked the streets of the town going door to door and handing everybody he met in the street a Gospel Tract. After two hours of walking in the rain, he was soaking, bone-chilled wet and down to his VERY LAST TRACT. He stopped on a corner and looked for someone to hand a tract to, but the streets were totally deserted. Then he turned toward the first home he saw and started up the sidewalk to the front door and rang the door bell. He rang the bell, but nobody answered. He rang it again and again, but still no one answered. He waited but still no answer. Finally, this eleven year old trooper turned to leave, but something stopped him. Again, he turned to the door and rang the bell and knocked loudly on the door with his fist. He waited, something holding him there on the front porch! He rang again and this time the door slowly opened. Standing in the doorway was a very sad-looking elderly lady. She softly asked,'What can I do for you, son?' With radiant eyes and a smile that lit up her world, this little boy said,'Ma'am, I'm sorry if I disturbed you, but I just want to tell you that *JESUS REALLY DOES LOVE YOU* and I came to give you my very last Gospel Tract which will tell you all about JESUS and His great LOVE.' With that, he handed her his last tract and turned to leave. She called to him as he departed.'Thank you, son! And God Bless You!' Well, the following Sunday morning in church Pastor Dad was in the pulpit. As the service began, he asked, 'Does anybody have testimony or want to say anything?' Slowly, in the back row of the church, an elderly lady stood to her feet. As she began to speak, a look of glorious radiance came from her face,'No one in this church knows me. I've never been here before. You see, before last Sunday I was not a Christian. My husband passed on some time ago, leaving me totally alone in this world. Last Sunday, being a particularly cold and rainy day, it was even more so in my heart that I came to the end of the line where I no longer had any hope or will to live. So I took a rope and a chair and ascended the stairway into the attic of my home. I fastened the rope securely to a rafter in the roof, then stood on the chair and fastened the other end of the rope around my neck. Standing on that chair, so lonely and brokenhearted I was about to leap off, when suddenly the loud ringing of my doorbell downstairs startled me. I thought,'I'll wait a minute, and whoever it is will go away.' I waited and waited, but the ringing doorbell seemed to get louder and to be continued on next post..... |

more insistent, and then the person ring in g also started knocking loudly. I thought to myself again,'Who on earth could this be? Nobody ever rings my bell or comes to see me.' I loosened the rope from my neck and started for the front door, all the while the bell rang louder and louder. When I opened the door and looked I could hardly believe my eyes, for there on my front porch was the most radiant and angelic little boy I had ever seen in my life. His SMILE, oh, I could never describe it to you! The words that came from his mouth caused my heart that had long been dead, TO LEAP TO LIFE as he exclaimed with a cherub-like voice,'Ma'am, I just came to tell you that JESUS REALLY DOES LOVE YOU.' Then he gave me this Gospel Tract that I now hold in my hand. As the little angel disappeared back out into the cold and rain, I closed my door and read slowly every word of this Gospel Tract. Then I went up to my attic to get my rope and chair. I wouldn't be needing them any more. You see---I am now a Happy Child of the KING. Since the address of your church was on the back of this Gospel Tract, I have come here to personally say THANK YOU to God's little angel who came just in the nick of time and by so doing, spared my soul from an eternity in hell.' There was not a dry eye in the church. And as shouts of praise and honor to THE KING resounded off the very rafters of the building, Pastor Dad descended from the pulpit to the front pew where the little angel was seated. He took his son in his arms and sobbed uncontrollably. Probably no church has had a more glorious moment, and probably this universe has never seen a Papa that was more filled with love & honor for his son... Except for One. Our Father also allowed His Son to go out into a cold and dark world. He received His Son back with joy unspeakable, and as all of heaven shouted praises and honor to The King, the Father sat His beloved Son on a throne far above all principality and power and every name that is named. Blessed are your eyes for reading this message. Don't let this message die, read it again and pass it to others. Heaven is for His people! Remember, God's message CAN make the difference in the life of someone close to you ! Please share this wonderful message... Please forward this message. Spread His word, and share His goodness and faithfulness ! |

I wish the old paths were before us instead of behind us.
THE OLD PATHS I liked the old paths, when Moms were at home. Dads were at work. Brothers went into the army. And sisters got married BEFORE having children! Crime did not pay; Hard work did; And people knew the difference. Moms could cook; Dads would work; Children would behave. Husbands were loving; Wives were supportive; And children were polite. Women wore the jewelry; And Men wore the pants. Women looked like ladies; Men looked like gentlemen; And children looked decent. People loved the truth, And hated a lie. They came to church to get IN, Not to get OUT! Hymns sounded Godly; Sermons sounded helpful; Rejoicing sounded normal; And crying sounded sincere. Cursing was wicked; Drugs were for illness; And divorce was unthinkable. The flag was honored; America was beautiful; And God was welcome! We read the Bible in public; Prayed in school; And preached from house to house.. To be called an American was worth dying for; To be called an American was worth living for; To be called a traitor was a shame! I still like the old paths the best! 'The Old Paths' was written by a retired minister. |

VERY, VERY IMPORTANT!!!!!!! AWESOME!!!!!!!!!
:) Joshua Harris -- He’s like a comedian with an awesome message!!! Joshua Harris’s -- Searching for TRUE LOVE. Turn up the speakers and set back. Length of all 5 are approx. a total of 35 to 40 minutes. Objective: Pass it along to as many children, teens, even adults as you can. There are a few times early on that one may stop watching it but if you hang in there for a bit longer all the way through the 5 parts it will be WELL WORTH it. He brings it all together as a whole. A very close friend told me many, many years ago of these films & how she bought them for her child and how they were really great (Thank God for her). Awesome, awesome, awesome video!!! Without her telling me of them, I never would have known of them. I want to keep the GOOD news going. The recordings have been discontinued and it’s my understanding that I can no longer order them and that they are unfortunately no longer being produced for sale. The films begin with him on the street’s asking people how they define “Love”… needless to say there were some strange answers. He is not against dating, marriage,…. he’s just speaking of….., Ooooh, just watch the films and you all will see. I watched the film alone for the 1st time to see if it was something I would want to share with others and to see if it was age appropriate. After watching it (for weeks, &…) I couldn’t hardly contain myself, I was sooooo happy that I had a film like this to show children, teen & even adults & that someone cared enough & seen the need to make a film like this. I think the age of 11 and up is age appropriate. It’s even great for the adults (as are in his audience) too. I was very excited about the film (still am). I remember wishing that more people knew about the film and wishing that the films were in circulation when I was a teen too. It said all the things I wanted to ------- to be continued on the next post...... |

VERY, VERY IMPORTANT!!!!!!! AWESOME!!!!!!!!! Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy. :) teach/tell children and teens that I didn’t quite know exactly how to cover it all but this film pretty much does. I was so thankful for Josh Harris’s teachings on these films that I prayed for him & thanked God for him (same with the Christian singer “Sandi Patti”,“Ray Bolts”,“Clay Cross”,“Aaron & Jeffrey” & “Twila Paris”….too. Ooops, got carried away here) and thanked God for him because I was so grateful for it. Maybe, the only reason I came upon it was because I prayed in the 1st place (don’t ya love it when that happens !!) The film will open up for family, friends,… discussion in such a relaxed atmosphere.  The films are, to me, really great & I want to share it with others in hopes that there is someone out there that it will touch as much as it myself and some others I know. Pass it around & share it with all the children, teens, even adults you can think of. This is much better for them to hear than someone telling them the opposite. Imagine how awesome it would be if this got into the hands of them & they share it with their friends, & their friends & their friends…..(Oooooh, happiness in my heart just thinking about it !!!) To share it with, co-workers, counseling center friends, clinics, school teachers, friends, families,….. ATTN: He also has another one that I like even a lot better but I have not been able to find it online. It is called “Searching for Trust”. They are all good but that was my favorite one. Awesome, I tell ya just awesome!!! If any of you can find that one on line by Joshua Harris please do let me know. The Moon’s Hidden Side
The distance between the earth and the moon is just about exactly 239,000 miles. It takes 27.3 days for the moon to complete one full revolution around the earth and it also takes exactly the same time for the moon to spin once on its own axis. This means that the moon remains at a standstill in relation to the earth’s movement so that it always presents the same face, the same side to the earth. With that as an introductory background…did you know that it was on Christmas Day of 1968 that American astronauts Frank Borman, William Anders, and James Lovell became the first men to see, with their own eyes, the hidden side of the moon? They were excited and so impressed with their first sighting that they read the creation account from the Bible, which is found in Genesis 1 ! |

All That Soap… and We’re still Dirty
Eyeball to eyeball, the preacher and the agnostic were discussing religion. “Why are there so many messed up lives if God is such a powerful God?” the skeptic wanted to know.“It looks like God would do something about all the chaos in the world if He really could.” At that moment a small boy walked by. A recent rain had left mud puddles everywhere, and it appeared that the boy had managed to walk through every one of them. He was caked with mud from head to toe. The preacher asked the cynic,“Why do you suppose this boy is so filthy since there is so much soap and water available?” End of Conversation! Truth is, all the soap and water in the world won’t clean one square inch of filth if it isn’t applied. Likewise, the problem with moral sludge in the human race is not because of a shortage of a cleansing agent. The little boy’s problem? He liked mud puddles and loathed soap and water. |

Note: Yall check out the web address listed at the bottom of this too. It’s great.
Dear Husband, The purpose of this resignation letter is to inform you that I will be leaving my position with your family, effective tomorrow. As much as I would love to stay on as your chief laundress, cook, nurse, nanny, teacher, chauffeur, household manager, accountant, waitress, and maid I simply don’t get paid enough to put up with your children’s antics. Today, for example, your 4 – year-old son launched his dinner plate across the room like some medieval catapult, because his “meatball was touching his spaghetti.” I don’t know what I was thinking when I spooned a meatball onto the same plate as his spaghetti. Your two other sons held a battle in the family room, using pillows as their weapons of choice. When battling the forces of evil, on e must take the high ground, explaining why they were jumping on the couch. As a result, the wooden frame snapped and burst through the fabric. One of your children managed to lock everyone out of the bathroom. I assume it was one of your children; however, they unanimously agree that Notme was the guilty party. According to your children, Notme has also been responsible today for heaping wet towels on the floor, spilling, juice on the carpet, eating an entire pack of gum from my purse, dumping out buckets of toys, and flushing Barbie dolls down the toilet. I have yet to catch Notme in the act. When your daughter asked me if she could get a screwdriver to take the doorknob off the bathroom door, I replied,“Don’t touch it.” I can see how she understood that to mean “Go outside, get Daddy’s ladder, climb into the bathroom through the window, and then use the screwdriver to remove the doorknob.” I have appreciated being a part of your family and its accompanying opportunities. Had I not held this position, I would never have learned that staples pass harmlessly through a 1-year-old’s digestive system; that nail polish sticks to the inside or a toilet bowl; or that yogurt, flung from a spoon, can fly 60 feet. Clearly, the past 13 years on this job have given me invaluable information and skills that will help me acquire a new position in the real world. Please do not let me know if I can be of assistance during the transition. Please do not try to reach me if you have any questions or need any further information. I have turned off my phone and am now enjoying doing nothing but reading books written for adults, eating food other than mac-n-cheese and chicken nuggets, and wearing clothes without spit-up stains or dirty handprints. Sincerely, Your loving wife P.S.– I finally found the source of the odd-colored liquid that spilled all over the inside of the refrigerator. It leaked form a jar of pickles into which your oldest son, doing some sort of experiment know only to him, had poured a packet of Kool-Aid. This is a review that someone sent me via email on 11-12-09. I personally have not read the book. I was amazed to see that it’s being sold to our school age children through “The Scholastic Book Club”. Does The Scholastic Book Club or the schools sell Bibles so that the children can know of the errors of this book (ok, yes, that is a bit of sarcasm on my part, but…). Have any of you read or heard of it?
Ok, BOTTOMLINE here!!!! . . . BEWARE -- Conversations with God book Some of you don't have little ones but know others who need this information. The writers do not want our children to be Christians. False prophets. Beware of this book!! Oprah is pushing it. It is scary that someone would be bold enough to write a book from God's point of view contrary to His Word. BEWARE!! Book Pic: http://www.audiobooksonline.com/shopsite/medi... If you have children or grandchildren, work with children at church, or you have neighborhood children whose parents you know, please take note of the information below and pass it along to others. Schools are distributing this book to children through the Scholastic Book Club. The name of the book is Conversations with God.. James Dobson talked about this book twice this week. It is devastating. Parents, churches and Christian schools need to be aware of it. Please pass this information on to church/e-mail addresses, Parents, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, friends. Please pay special attention not only to what your kids watch on TV, in movie theaters, on the Internet, and the music they listen to, but also be alert regarding the books they read. Two particular books are, Conversations with God and Conversations with God for Teens, written by Neale D. Walsch. They sound harmless enough by their titles alone. The books have been on the New York Times best sellers list for a number of weeks, and they make truth of the statement, "Don't judge a book by its cover or title." The author purports to answer various questions asked by kids using the "voice of God". However, the "answers" that he gives are not Bible-based and go against the very infallible word of God. For instance (and I paraphrase), when a girl asks the question "Why am I a lesbian?" His answer is that she was 'born that way' because of genetics (just as you were born right-handed, with brown eyes, etc.). Then he tells her to go out and "celebrate" her differences. Another girls poses the question "I am living with my boyfriend. My parents say that I should marry him because I am living in sin. Should I marry him?" His reply is, "Who are you sinning against? Not me, because you have done nothing wrong." Another question asks about God's forgiveness of sin. His reply "I do not forgive anyone because there is nothing to forgive.. There is no such thing as right or wrong and that is what I have been trying to tell everyone, do not judge people. People have chosen to judge one another and this is wrong, because the rule is "'judge not lest ye be judged." Not only are these books the false doctrine of the devil, but in some instances quote (in error) the Word of God. And the list goes on. These books (and others like it) are being sold to schoolchildren through (The Scholastic Book Club), and we need to be aware of what is being fed to our children. Our children are under attack. So I pray that you be sober and vigilant about teaching your children the Word of God, and guarding their exposure to worldly mediums, because our adversary, the devil, roams about as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8). We know that lions usually hunt for the slowest, weakest and YOUNGEST of its prey. Pass this on to every Believer you know.. God bless! And, if you are in doubt, check out the books yourself . . . HAS ANYONE ELSE HEARD THIS INFO. AND/OR READ THE BOOK? |

“ask Billy Graham”
(compiled by Bill Adler) (below are some quotes from the book.) ---------- SOMETIMES SIN HAPPENS GRADUALLY, LITTLE BY LITTLE, DOESN’T IT? “You can take a frog and turn on hot water and he’ll jump out. But put him in cold water and gradually turn the heat up and you can fry him. That’s the way sin is. It comes on you so softly and so subtly you don’t detect you’re going down.” WHAT ARE THE TWO ROADS OF LIFE THAT JESUS TAUGHT US? “ Jesus taught that there are two roads of life. Many of you are in the ruts of life and you just keep on going and you don’t change. But there’s a highway that God has built for us. He offers us an opportunity to get out of those ruts and to get on a magnificent freeway, a diamond lane that will take you to heaven. Death is not our final destination, only the doorway to it. Only those prepared to die are really prepared to live.” WHY DID GOD SEND HIS SON TO US? “God had a son, and he sent him to rescue us, to save us. I remember one time, I was walking with one of my sons. We stepped on an anthill and some of the ants were dying and some were wounded… And I said,‘Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could go down there and help those ants and tell that we didn’t mean to do that.’ And my son said:‘Dad, we can’t. We’re too big. They’re too little.’ And I said,‘That’s exactly what God was. God became man.” AS A NATIONAL SAFETY COUNCIL BOARD MEMBER YOU SAW A SPIRITUAL LINE BETWEEN A PERSON’S FAITH AND HIS OR HER PRACTICE OF GOOD DRIVING SKILLS, CAN YOU EXPLAIN THAT? “Selfishness, anger, carelessness, neglect, pride, are all symptoms of a deep-rooted cause of a spiritual disease that the Bible calls sin. Accidents, injuries, and fatalities are only the results… Most people do not associate careful and safe driving with spiritual living, but there is a definite connection…I urge all who share in the love of God to show that love by placing life above inconvenience, ego, a self will, impatience and pride. Join me in a covenant both to use safety belts and to protect children in child safety seats each time we use our cars. Let us by example and exhortation show others the nature of our commitment, our belief in the preservation of the whole person… “The commandment ‘Thou shall not kill’ applies to our behavior on the the highways as well as to our interpersonal relationships. Join me in a covenant both to use safety belts and to protect children in child safety seats each time we use our cars.” One of the prayers Graham suggested was:“O Lord, Creator, leader of all mankind…help me to remember that when I am in my automobile, I am my brother’s keeper. Let me find the daily strength to insist my fellow passengers protect themselves in safety belts when they are traveling TO BE CONTINUED ON THE NEXT POST..... |

in the car with me. Let me not waver in my obligation to insist that all infants and toddlers who ride in my car are properly secured.”
WHAT WAS YOUR REACTION TO TAKING RELIGION OUT OF PUBLIC SCHOOLS? “We can’t hang up the Ten Commandments in the classroom. We’re throwing God out and bringing sex in, and look what has happened.” DO YOU FEAR THAT PEOPLE GO TO CHRUCH THINKING THAT IT AUTOMATICALLY RIDS THEM OF THEIR SINS? “There is no doubt that we are experiencing the greatest wave of religious resurgence in American history. But one great danger, I fear, is that religion has gotten so popular that it has become the social thing to do. Everyone goes to church. But only a small minority are living the [Christian] life seven days a week.” HAVE YOU HAD DOUBTS ABOUT YOUR FAITH? “I’ve had doubts about myself—about my own experience of living in Christ, helping people, doing the right things Jesus taught us to do, taking up the cross and following him. I’ve had doubts about myself, not about God.” HOW CLOSE WERE YOU TO SINGER JOHNNY CASH AND HIS WIFE, JUNE CARTER? “Johnny Cash was not only a legend, but a close personal friend… a good man who struggled with many challenges…a deeply religious man… Ruth and I took a number of vacations with them… They both were like a brother and sister to Ruth and me. We loved them…. I look forward to seeing Johnny and June in heaven one day”. IS THERE A MIDDLE GROUND BETWEEN HEAVEN AND HELL? “You may think you are a good and upright person and that you have done nothing worthy of damnation….But there’s no middle ground between heaven and hell. You are either on the road to one or the other.” HOW DOES OUR RELATIONSHIP TO GOD AFFECT OUR HEALTH? “God has a prescription that will never fail.” WHAT IS THE IMPORTANCE OF THE PRESIDENT’S ANNUAL PRAYER BREAKFAST? “Every president since 1954 has continued the tradition of the massive annual prayer breakfast. I believe the prayer breakfast movement has played a significant role in the revival of religious interest in America.” |

When You Thought I Wasn’t Looking
When you thought I wasn’t looking, I saw you hang my first painting on the refrigerator, and I wanted to paint another one. When you thought I wasn’t looking, I saw you feed a stray cat, and I thought it was good to be kind to animals. When you thought I wasn’t looking, I saw you make my favorite cake for me, and I knew that little things are special things. When you thought I wasn’t looking, I heard you say a prayer, and I believed that there was a God to talk to. When you thought I wasn’t looking, I felt you kiss me goodnight, and I felt loved. When you thought I wasn’t looking, I saw tears come from your eyes, and I learned that sometimes things hurt, but it’s alright to cry. When you thought I wasn’t looking, I saw that you cared, and I wanted to be everything that I could be. When you thought I wasn’t looking, I looked… and I wanted to say thanks for all the things I saw when you thought I wasn’t looking. |
