I was at Central in the fall of '60 when BCC first opened. The junior highs (North and South) were overcrowded and they hadn't finished building Crosby, which was the 3rd jr. high, so the 7th graders from North and South each spent one semester at Central. There was an article about BCC, which was one of the first community colleges in Life or Look magazine including a photo of the BCC students standing out on the Common and all us 7th graders walking around them.

Thank you for creating Berkshire Community College.

I started in the fall of 1971 in the original site while construction continued on the West Street campus. It was exciting to be the first class to use the new campus and quite enjoyable to watch it be built. In the winter of 1972 I along with my classmates transitioned out to the new campus.

I don't live in Massachusetts now but the community college I live near is going strong there. What a great opportunity for so many people to get educated. When I see that campus I think of my start 38 years ago.

Keep going for many more years.

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Scorpio

Something that you've always taken for granted or believed implicitly could have a big question mark hanging over it during the next few weeks. The more entrenched your views are about this, the more difficult it will be to accept that perhaps it's time for a change of opinion or, at the very least, a revaluation of what you think. Mercury turns retro in your house of communications, so do your best to be open-minded now.
