Yes, they are changing delivery companies. I talked to a manager on duty yesterday about it. They are not closing.

Now we all know what the problem is - customers like you!! Since you are so "in the know" about what you are calling money problems, prayer would be then in order instead of you getting on here and trying to run someone's business and/or reputaion in the ground. I guess your life is perfect and you have never had a struggle in your life. Honestly, its nobody's business what is going on at IGA. If you dont want to shop there, don't! But dont get on here and act like you are so well informed about what is or is not going on. You keep shopping in Dothan. Im sure in that store you are just another piece of cash and they dont know you from Adam, much unlike the employees at IGA. Isn't Publix just so lucky to have your negative spirit enter their automatic doors!

The shelves being empty don't have nothing to do with delivery companies. Yea a manager will tell you that excuse. Do you expect him to say they having money problems? What does getting some frozen food items in the entire row of empty containers have to do with it? Or only having a few containers of ice cream? You not going to lose all your customers to change companies. No we all know what the problem is and I hate it. Always enjoyed shopping there but now I am buying out of town to meet my needs. Love me some Publix in Dothan

Sorry I am not running any business in the ground. What am I suppose to do, go in and find less than half of my items in the store?? I can remember when every shopping cart was in use at that store. Now you may see one or two people in the store and the only good thing about it is that there no wait at the registers. Joe Wilken worked his butt off to build that store up and I have supported it all these years. But what use to be is no more. Don't criticize me for traveling elsewhere to do my shopping. How can I shop in a store that don't even carry common items that you should have in. Negative attitude? Sorry don't see it that way. You are am employee of the store no doubt and if you want my business, get me some groceries in the store. Every person that comes into the store and sees all the bare shelves wonders what is going on. Don't blow smoke when there is no fire. And believe it or not, I have stopped by a convenience store to pick up items you don't have.

I wonder exactly where is your compasion? Before you get any ideas, let me say that I am not an employee of the IGA but I am a customer and I consider myself a friend.
Yes, it is true that they are in the midst of changing distributors and in doing so had to go through the motions of getting out of one contract in order to get in another. Doing all of that takes time.
Also, since the first of this year the owner of the IGA has been through numerous personal struggles including major surgery and health issues AND THE DEATH OF HER DADDY. I am sure that at one time or another she probably could have cared less if the IGA was open or not. Grief is TERRIBLE.
In your first post you were negative and slanderous with your accuasations of "knowing the real reason" why the IGA was so bare. No one is critizing you for going out of town to buy your groceries, but loose the attitude and have some compasion.

I have no attitude. Just saying don't lie about why the shelves are bare. Say there are problems and let it go at that. Stores change distributers everyday and don't have to let the store go like it is. I have said nothing slanderous other than you are lying why the shelves are bare. The store has lost lots of customers, LOTS and you aren't going to risk your business by changing distributors. Yes my post is negative. But yours is also. So do I need to call you (and yes you are an employee) and ask what you have and don't have before I come? Yes I will continue to go to Dothan. No they don't know me from Adam in Publix but they act like they do. Its nice going to one store and buying what I need, like it use to be at the IGA.

Actually for your info the store is NOT having any money problems and it is true that we are changing distrubiting companies. As for you leaving to go shop somewhere else, ok, bye bye. It was probably a good riddance anyways considering how you are griping over something you really know nothing about. It is customers like you that think they know everything and think we are nothing but their slaves and should do everything the way they expect it. I hate to tell you there is no where in life that is perfect, not even shopping places. The moment you do find a perfect store you might not want to go to it because you may mess it up.

Never mistreated anyone in that store. What makes you think I have ever looked down on anyone working in that store?? I think your attitude toward your customers sux. I am happy where I shop and I wonder why you are getting mad? At one point I was happy shopping in the IGA but it has been gradually getting worse. I was having to go to another store to complete my shopping for items you didn't have. What do you expect people that have shopped there to do?? Are we suppose to plan our meals around what you have or are you suppose to have what we have planned for our meals?? And you think I am the only one that has stopped shopping there? LOL You going to be hating a lot of people if you hating those that have stopped shopping there.

Wow, you are full of yourself, aren't you. Who cares where you shop? I don't and I guarantee you no one else does either. What I do care about is when you start making accusation about the owner and that is exactly what you did in your first post.
Here are the truths: They are changing distributors and the first distributor stopped shipping groceries when they were notified that the IGA was pulling its contract. Per the contract, they could not purchase from another distributor until first contract was void and null. This has happened now and the new distributor has presented their contract....all of this takes time and in that time NO GROCERIES WERE BEING SENT. Do you understand? Just stop a minute and let it sink in.....if you dont believe that then that is your choice. But its the truth. Period.
Also, I am not an employee but if you choose not to believe that one also, then that too is your choice.
End of discussion.

Piss Poor planning if you ask me. It has been a year that the shelves have been empty. Only thing I know is somebody better fix the problem cause there are choices and I for one have changed stores also. Not going to Dothan but there are other places.

I can seenow you are stuck on yourself and your brain is too small to interpret anything. In no way am I mad. Just stated a fact and then my opinion of you. I couldn't care less where you shopped at Mrs. Goody 2 shoes. Nor do I care where anyone else shops at. That is their business. Now have a nice day and a nice life being a stuck up huzzy.

I have never in my life seen the beat of how you people hide behind a computer screen and bash one another over the most RIDICULOUS crap! I honestly believe people start threads on this site JUST to get people's reactions and to start little petty arguments between them! This website is meant for news and information, and all that ever happens here is DRAMA! GET A LIFE PEOPLE!

If you only buy your meats from the IGA remind me not to eat at your house. And how do you shop in a store that has nothing. Face the facts....The store is on the way out, gone, kapoot. My Grandmother, My Mother, and Myself has supported the store all the years it was open. Mr. Joe would turn over in his grave if he know what has happened to what he worked all his life to build. I only go there now for bread milk and eggs. I do all my shopping out of town. I have not seen Jodi in that store in a year. She has given up. If she had put the time into the store as she has that UGA bulldog she has, the store may still be in shape. I am sorry, I am not trying to upset anybody, but I am only stating what everybody else in town knows but too nice to say. She can't pay her debts and nobody will bring groceries. I hate it for the ones that have been there all these years. Mike, Sara, and others have put their life in the store. Nothing I have said has been slanderous but the truth. I can only hope some other food store that is better than what we have will open where the IGA is now.
