Strange that the story didn't indicate the race of the attacker or the victim.

Was this a black on white or a brown on white crime? If so, can anyone say "hate crime"?

Attempted First Degree murder at the age of 12yrs old. NICE!!!
If he was threatening someone should of gotten him help. Obviously he is a disturbed child. Maybe he was getting help and that hasnt come about out yet. Just what were they fighting about? WHERE IN THE HECK did he get the idea of stabbing him? Do the parents use violence at home? Just a few questions that come to mind. NO ONE deserves to be injured over an argument. Put this kid away for a while.

I'm surprised he didn't shoot him with dad's hand gun. That's the weapon of choice for public school kids these days.
That's a big kid and bully on the road to the Pen.

This is bullsh^%....no wonder so many parents choose to home school their kids. Someone has got to put a stop to bullying....wait, I'm sorry, you can't. Kids shouldn't be afraid to go to school because someone is picking on them. Did anyone tell an adult that this kid already threatened to do this to him? If the victim told someone and they ignored him, then his parents need to get a good attorney.

"They say his parents are cooperating with the investigation--although they did not let police question their son."

Must be a hitherto unknown definition of the word "cooperating."

Amber: "WHERE IN THE HECK did he get the idea of stabbing him? Do the parents use violence at home?"

A lot of people in modern society have these things called "televisions" in their homes. Quite often, they're connected to these nifty inventions known as "cable" or "satellite".

They show all kinds of violent "TV Shows" and "movies" aka "motion pictures" where people regularly solve their problems with violence.

A lot of parents use these as "electronic babysitters" plopping their children in front of them at a young age, or even leaving their children home alone with nothing else to occupy their minds.

It's quite common, I'm surprised you haven't heard of it?

This is what happens when God is no longer welcomed in the home or in school. Something is very wrong in the boy's home if this is how he sincereky believes he is allowed to behave and is how he has been taught to resolve his anger. And if is not directly his parents example than it is what they have allowed him to be exposed to.

He made threats and no one took him seriously. We need to start listening. Red flags go off right away. If someone threatens someone else look into it. Find out what is going on don't ignore it. Take a few minutes from your busy day and listen to your kids.

I hope they really take strong actions against this punk. Don't make excuses for him, I think at his age he needs military school and have to earn every priviledge. The parents apparently have not issued any control over him.

What is wrong with the children these days, when I was coming up when we got in to an altercation with someone we used are fist not guns or knives not to say that any act of violence is good, but some of these kids take things a little too far. We must continue to install in our kids that violence is not the answer and that if they do bad things then they will have to deal with the consequences. Maybe we need to go back to the times when parents disciplined their kids and the state didn't get involved, and the kids turned out better for it in the long run. I will pray for these kids and the parents.

Do we know that the attacker wasn't the one being bullied? That isn't an excuse for his ability to go this far, not at all, but maybe nobody was listening in ways other than his threats? When you are 12, things seem like they are never going to change. IF he was being bullied and/or humiliated, then he probably had some social issues to begin with- bullies seem to have radar for these kids. Just saying.

This is not a hate crime, white on white, in our FAIR (SKINNED) TOWN. It was a bully that got it from someone who had enough of it and couldn't figure out another way to get it to stop.

All in all, this kind of behavior begins at home. Plainly, this is way these delinquents are being raised. And, by the way. I agree with junior about wondering where god was when this was going on.

bully got what he had coming. as a person terrorized as a youth by one of these juvenile cretins, i am not saddened by this act. perhaps in the long run other bullies will take note knowing they have to watch their own back! you people automaattically condemning this kid for reacting the only way he could. FISTS? you gotta be kidding me.this kid probably wet his pants every time the thug would be near him.
